Re: What are my options ?

What Gaz posted ! ^^^ :-bd Did this myself a few months back instead of getting a new flexi welded to the existing cat. Easy to do, you'll need a new centre to front pipe, as the orginal cat is straight through to the exhaust leading to the back box (also a new clamp). Easy to do. Passed MOT with ou...

Re: LED (COB) headlights

You can fit hid bulbs with the standard clips without having to modify anything. Got these so did not have to cut. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/H7-METAL-HID-HEADLIGHT-CONVERSION-KIT-BULB-HOLDERS-CLIPS-VAUXHALL-VECTRA-C-ASTRA-/292157253177?hash=item4405ede639 Almost impossible to fit, going in to try t...

Yup use it all the time, where ever possible. Easily adjusted if traffic changes. As above, just look far enough ahead and try to anticipate other road users.

Re: B5.5 H7 HID Conversion Relay ???

You may need longer extensions on the passat, or multiples of. Obviously the plenum is also a drain chamber hence sheltered and higher up :) Ive always found it hassle to fit ballasts and keep them accessible near headlights on B5 and B5.5 hence where the idea originated. Easy on the Passenger side...

problem was, getting a second hand one that was intact. Second hand ones were as much as they were new and over teh years the plastic will have become brittle.

Windscreen lower trim availability

Does anyone know if the trim that runs along the bottom of the windscreen and has the wiper spindles going through it, is available from the dealers?

If so anyone got the part number and possible price.

Does the handle on the boot lid actually work. I had an issue and it was due to the handle (which is just hinged metal that presses a microswitch) was corroded closed and constantly pressing the microswitch.

I've done it when replacing the headlights. As above ensure they're fully extended to begin with (normal level). THey're a ball join on the end which hooks to the housing from the bottom, so you have to try tilt the motor downwards to release it. It can be a bit of a oh fiddlesticks!.
