Re: MOT failed

Right so what does this mean, easily passed normal or just in

Fast1 2.86
Fast2 2.19
Fast3 1.27
Fast 4 1.64

All numbers are k(m-1)

Mean is 1.70 m-1

Normal test turbo 3.00m-1 = passed

What the?

Re: MOT failed

Haha yea indeed. It was my mums car previously and bought as a stop gap, but it was so reliable she just kept it. I did say you need to do a service and if she buys the oil ill do it, but she said nah dont worry ill get rid of it soon... well the years went on and on, until she got annoyed with the ...

Re: MOT failed

Yeah almost too scared to change it.

I'll report the test results when I pick it up, never had a diesel before so not sure what it'll mean, whether it's quite high or what not

MOT failed

Just had the dreaded call and it failed but not what I was expecting! I thought it would be the suspension arms but only 1 advisory. It failed on slow seat belt which is okay as they'll grease it up, but think it'll be full of dog hairs. The other is they couldn't do emissions test on the diesel so ...

Re: Loosing power N75?

You need the codes read if you get 17965 then your overboosting. Which is pretty much coked turbo or dodge map sensor. Chances are it'll be turbo and you can clean this with me muscle but do it two to three times, if it's still poo remove the turbo and clean that way. Vcds is really the software you...

Re: Would an air con pressure be related to my car overheati

Sounds like impending doom for the engine, however the fan coming on on a cold engine sounds like the issue I had on mine. Bottom n/s there is a pipe which goes into the lower rad, around there is a blue sensor called thermal switch. I tried removing it but couldn't get the sensor plug off but in do...

Mr muscle twice! The work actuator with a syringe with a hose attached just out of interest. What speeds does it kick in at? Mine was initially straight on the motorway at 70, then I Mr muscled it and limp at 80, then second time got to 90 before doing it. I then went on a 4 hour drive but kept it i...

thanks for that, i think i'll have to use the scissor jacks which come with the car for that though as my trolley jack doesn't really do smooth lowering.

did you replace the bolt?

Lower control arms removal

So MOT time soon and I have a feeling it may fail on one of these. I've seen online some people say you need to loosen the subframe a little bit to get one of the bolts out, some say you don't. Watching the Bentley may it doesn't look like they do, so i'm confused whether it'll come out or not witho...

I fill up around 6-7 times a year mostly using tesco but never really noticed and yes I do that little miles about 1.8 miles a day, so doubt I'd ever notice the difference. Diesel??? You should be running a petrol engined car using it like that, theres zero advantage to using a Diesel shopping trol...

Plug and play to a degree.

You need to cut a hole in the rubber bulb cover and either cut or buy a bulb holder and job done.

I went 5000k hids, check my own before and after and not doctored in any way.

My bulbs before were Phillips 4300k halogen crystal vision so don't look as creamy as standard bulbs

Am I getting fobbed off?

My new(er) car seems to only lock/unlock when i'm very near by about 1 to 2 meters. My other passat I could be quite far back and when unlocking I had to hurry up before it self locks after no doors opening. I'm guessing it can pretty much only be battery in the fob causing this? Use to have a saloo...

Re: Bonnet does open, however...

Both my cars you pull lever and it lifts a tiny bit, I then lift up the bonnet about 1-2cm then lever pops out, pull this then lift bonnet up.

If yours doesn't do that then maybe the cable doesn't have enough tension, might be worth checking the grommet is fully inserted by ecu area

Re: 1.9 TDI 110 BHP - Still down on power and bad MPG?

Buy a syringe on eBay with 3mm tubing. Connect this too the actuator and pull on the syringe loads of times. My car was going into limp mode as over boosting, Karl said to remove turbo and clean it but the oil pipe was seized on. I fitted a braided pipe from dark side and it's stopped the mad oil le...

When was the coolant last changed? Should be every 2 years I think.

Be easier to undo the screw at rad and top up from there rather than full flush

I got the same with 17965, going to do Mr muscle once more before I strip the turbo.

Is there any reason why not to remove exhaust side from turbo and spray straight in?
