my 1.9 tdi has a full straight through exhaust, i was expecting it to wake the dead on cold starts, but its actually really nice, almost stock with extra whistle on idle, then a nice low growl on full chat. along with other mods ive gained about 15mpg on the same driving as its breathing so much bet...

my 5 speed is sloppy too, pulled the gaiter back and it looks like the ball has too much slack in the socket,seems to be a common fault?

mines ne this since i got it, when the engines fully cold it misfires ans runs on what feels like 3 cylinders, smokes and rattles too, after about 4 seconds it sorts itself out and is perfect the rest of the day.
gonna start with the glowplugs and work from there.

pd130, 123k averages 35-38mpg around the doors, had mid 40s on longer routes. sensible driving too! its had a "power" map, egr delete and straight through exhaust, currently looking to get the ecu flashed back to stock though. my old afn ran 50mpg everywhere no matter how hard it was drove...

I've similar issues to other people here, mine sits at 92-93 constantly but if I boost it in 4th or 5th under load it creeps to 99 degrees, my coolant was orange like the pic posted, flushed out the entire system, new stat, coolant and waterpump and it's still the same. The cluster reads bang on 90 ...

Well you need to make sure it's the headgasket that went faulty again,so does the car got a pressure build in the coolant bottle or not??,i mean if you start the car for few min. and then turned it off,would the pressure be so much in the coolant bottle or not?? sometimes the gasker or head itself ...

If you didn't skim the head the first time it's kind of your own fault... had the same thing with a Maestro race car years ago... I checked the head and considered it flat enough... I was wrong x_x Lookin around the net it seems a skim is likley to solve it. There's nothing else to replace. Good jo...
