Don't laugh!
Some time ago I was asking for advice on an all singing all dancing headunit for my passat. Mindriot gave me a feww links and I bought one of these. I have to say they are amazing, sat nav, music, obd info, bluetooth, streaming, mirror image, front and rear cameras, etc, etc. Sad to say the user manu...

Re: b 5..5 front wings fitting around headlamp
It's unlikely you'll get the fit you want.If the wings headlamps or bumper have been off at anytime you may have replacements of any of those. Even genuine replacement parts may not offer a perfect fit all round, just get the best you can, there's no magic formula.

That last line of Colin's is so pertinent, how easy it is to look for the complicated fault when there is none.
Aidan, you do well to lavish so much attention on the old girl with that s4 sitting there.

Just come back from a week in mid Wales, what a fun week driving ! Little traffic, NO POTHOLES and lovely road surfaces, just an absolute pleasure. Considering that they have worse winters than us why are their roads not patched up and potholed to death? I know that some will say they don't have the...

Re: fittìng fŕont lowerig springs on ab5.5
It's not hard. Knock the bolt out of the bottom of the shocks, then on the inner wing tops under the rubber grommets there are 3 13mm bolts either side. Remove them, wrestle the bottom of the shocks over the lower arm and they're out. Change the springs and reverse the procedure to replace. 1/2 day ...

They are better removed from the back. I have a number of trims available and could paint them in your colour if you think it's financially viable.

It is very wise to protect the threads when installing new track rods, (I had to replace the originals on my car as the threads were so corroded that no adjustment was possible. My new track rods were supplied with plastic sleeves over the threads to protect against damage. I cut the blind end off ...

poly bushes
To anyone who has had experience of changing TCA bushes from rubber to poly.
How do they compare.? Are the polybushes easy to fit into the standard arms? Just going to be changing TCAs soon and wondering if it's worthwhile going poly. Cheers chaps.

The bargelike feeling suggests springs and shocks. The usual recommended combo is Bilstein b4 shocks, and I would try some -35mm springs, I have them and the ride is very positive without loosening my teeth.

Re: Skitty Tdi
If there is no noticeable clonking or rattling to suggest an obvious possibility, I think I would be looking next at springs and shocks. You say your rr shock is looking shot, are all of them the same age? Changing them would be a bit of a cash layout but if you're still on originals there will be f...

Re: Skitty Tdi
Start with the tracking, check that FIRST. DON'T GET SIDETRACKED BY A DOZEN OTHER POSSIBILITIES. When you have ascertained that the tracking is right, if it's no better come back and ask again. There are too many variables to consider if you are not a well seasoned Passat veteran.

With the condition of your shocks unknown to you, the only sensible thing to do if changing any part of your suspension is do the lot. You can buy Bilstein b4 shocks for the same price as most on ebay and most people who have them speak highly of them. New top mounts will also be beneficial. If you ...

If it's a crack and you have good metal around it, plate it and seam weld around the new patch. If the metal around has corroded and is thin, then change it.

Hello, everyone! I am new to this forrum, so please excuse me in advance untill I get used with the rules of the forum. I have recently discovered on my passat cc (I know this website is for passsat, but still, not much difference in between them) some rust under the door seals. I had read a lot ab...
