What an odd post. What sort of response were you after? Start your build thread. I'm sure it will get attention if it's interesting.

Had my B5.5 since April last year. Longest I have kept a car is about 4 years. That was a 2002 Focus. 11 cars in 18 years of driving.

Re: Rage Against The Machines! SPACE TO VENT HERE

I have definately noticed an increase in people driving around without their headlights on, particularly early in the morning. I think the rise in DRL's and dashbords being permanently lit up has contributed to this as well as general stupidity. Another thing that annoys me, people driving without h...

Re: Rage Against The Machines! SPACE TO VENT HERE

That'll be me then . Left lane too slow , typically less than 70 . Right lane too fast 80+mph . If you're in either you are constantly changing to the middle lane to avoid slow in front and giving way to rear fast approaching traffic . Stay at 70 ish in the middle lane , mile after mile . I use the...

Just been reading this thread with interest. My car is starting to run rough so will be giving this a try too. Would this stuff be alright to use? Seems very reasonably priced. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pennine-Universal-2-Stroke-Oil-5-Litre-FREE-DELIVERY/152828220892?epid=27009519857&hash=ite...

Re: Thinking of buying a 1.6 tdi bluemotion highline tech estate

I have had the 1.6 in a Seat Toledo and the 2.0 (140) in a Passat. The 1.6 was fine and very economical but a bit toothless although adequate. The 2.0 was nearly as economical but much more punchy and a lot better to drive. Given the choice again it would be the 2.0 every time.

I'll barely get near 90° with egr disabled and about town journeys . Still it's far superior to the previous na 1.7 petrol that was much lighter and smaller . Non DPF Diesel power is still the right car to be in . My commute is 7ish miles, 4 days a week. I just get up to 90. Ever other weekend I do...

Don't forget the pesky heated mirror switch staying on , so easily done this time of year . Good shout, Gaz. Checked mine and it was on. Probably been like that for months. Mirrors still work though so luckily, not burnt out. My personal MPG has gone down by around 10% in the last month. To be expe...

Re: What BHP/Engine

I had an A4 before my Passat with the 2.0 130BHP ALT engine. Pretty uninspiring to drive to be honest but gets the job done. Over 2k miles I averaged 32.3MPG (Actual). Over the 7.5k since, I have averaged 51.7 in my 130BHP Tdi. They have been a much more fun bunch of miles. Also, the Tdi is cheaper ...
