I cannot confirm how accurate the smell is to its name but it is a nice air freshener, spray into the carpets and lasts a good while, really like their purple stuff grape soda smelling one :-bd

Re: Grey trim restoring/ cleaning

Will do when I have worked out how to attach/upload a photo! As a supplementary question can anyone recommend a good clay bar and kit for a relative beginner? I have all the Autoglym cleaners, polishes and waxes I need (and probably some I don’t) and a polishing machine I am ok with using, just nee...

Re: ABS Fault

The hub you linked looks correct but the part number I fitted had a B on the end instead of the one you linked has an A. I suspect its a superseded part from VW and the link would fit fine. I have no experience with that brand however and for important parts I always like to fit genuine but could be...

Re: ABS Fault

Could be the sensor but from your description I reckon its the wheel bearing. This has to be fitted as a complete rear hub as the magnetic abs pickup ring lives in the back of it somehow and is a sealed unit. I suspect the inner bearing in the hub has play (unsure of car mileage) which needs replaci...

Re: Rear wheel bearings

I am afraid you will have to fit a complete hub and bearing unit probably cheaper from TPS rather than VW, definitely recommend a genuine one, I think I paid around £80. It is a sealed unit and the abs pickup ring is somehow built into the back part of it (no visible ring, the back is kind of rubber...

From memory it was something like £369 but it's worth giving Alistair a ring as they sometimes have deals on etc

Re: First mod to my Passat b7 estate

Thanks @mrderv I’ll get those ordered. Thanks @kartman I’ve heard of them, recommended by some colleagues. I understand that they confuse people by the name as they are not actually in unit 118? Can you tell me how it was transformed? All round performance or better pull etc? They have an excellent...

Hello All. New to the forum and new to my new to me B7 Estate Executive Style 177 in candy white. Some awesome B7’s on here. Being an old fart, my modding days are long gone, however, I’d really like to add a few choice extra’s, some of which I’m having trouble finding, and could do with some help....

Re: Passat cc boot issues

I feel you have replaced both the catch and lock for no reason. It will almost certainly be the wiring has fractured where it leaves/enters the boot hinge tube. This can be got at by removing the left side carpet in the boot compartment. The wiring is held to this by a funny black plastic bracket. T...

hi, jist an update on what i previously posted, cars been in today, they changed the right hand side rear sensor so now all is good. It was the price they charged that wasnt good, £170 just for that, he did say if its not sensor, could be the hub at an extra cost in total of £230, but turned out ju...

Re: ESP, PARKING BRAKE LAMP ON PERMANENTLY

Likely to be an issue with an ABS wheel speed sensor. You would need to get a diagnostic scan done first with VCDS or similar to determine which one and then determine whether it is the sensor, wiring or hub at fault.

Hey Buddy,

So glad you bought it :D can't wait to see it in the flesh.
For your wiring I can't help I am afraid but I read Halfrauds had the Haynes manual for these on offer atm so that would be your best bet I imagine, or find one in the scrappy maybe.

Re: Poor Heat Response from Climatic Heating

I had this in my CC when I test drove it before buying. It would cool but not heat the window, making it hard to see where I was going! I suspect you have a stuck circulation flap in the heater system somewhere. I believe my car had a new flap and motor fitted but you maybe able to just free it up i...

I have a 2011 GT BMT TDI that is now remapped to 205hp and 421nm torque. Mine is on 147K miles now and was on 80K when I got it so I have covered plenty of miles to form an opinion. By far the most reliable car I have owned. I have only replaced two things a rear wheel bearing (perfectly reasonable ...

Re: ABS Woes

100% you need a new hub/bearing assembly. B6 and B7 rear hubs have the magnetic pickup integrated into the back of the hub and it has to be changed as a complete unit. Got my rear hub/bearing unit from TPS probably around £80. On my CC when jacked up I could not feel any play in the bearing but once...

Hi Buddy its Jordan

Worth getting a voltmeter on the battery should be near enough 14v. And then check the voltage as you crank it over, see how much it drops. Could be a bad earth or starter motor etc
