Could this be to do with the other coolant temp sensor?
I changed the one round the back but there's one at the front too iirc?

Re: B5.5 Highline 130
Looks like I need a better earth for the aux box (screwed it to the head unit case) and probably a ground loop isolator too..
Reckon it'll need tyres before it can go up for sale (if it does) too.

Try reformatting the memory card/stick in NTFS or exFAT format.
If it's currently fat32 there's a size limit of about 4gb iirc..

Re: AWX cold running lumpiness
Hmmm , injector loom territory . I hadn't considered this.. although.. the symptoms don't fit, do they? Starts on the button every time Occasionally, from the cold start, it'll run rough for a few seconds.. Then, until the temp gauge needle starts to move, 1 - 3 times it'll be almost like it's 1 cy...

Seems to be sorted..
Found 2 leads like this..
Blobbed some silicone on them, hopefully they won't be a problem later on..

Re: AWX cold running lumpiness
Finally pulled a plug and got some ordered.. They should be here today.
Never seen a used glow plug before so don't know what a bad one looks like
Really hoping it sorts the problem..

Re: Never own another passat
Actually thoroughly enjoying driving ours again at the mo..
It still won't go over 110 and even 'driving miss daisy' it struggles to get much over 40mpg..
But I was driving a 1997 Daihatsu Fourtrak for a month so I'm feeling blessed..

Re: B5.5 130 egr delete q's
I think you'll find the ASZ race pipe is shorter than the AWX. Bolt dimensions should be the same so maybe a quick measure of the required joining pipe may be enough? I'm lifting the bonnet to pull a glow plug next week, I'll check the state of cleanliness, fitment etc then.. if it was a definite '...

Re: B5.5 130 egr delete q's
Blanking plate should fit. And if egr is not leaking, you don't need blanking plate, problem is that it's hard to detect boost leakage through egr valve, that's why a lot people just blank it for peace of mind. I didn't mean blanking plates (I bought those separately), I meant the tube doodah that ...

Re: B5.5 130 egr delete q's
pull the vacuum pipe and blank the small feed pipe, if its a facelift model with indicators on the mirrors it may bring on the EML. Is there no need for the blanking plate(s)? I'm expecting an eml, it's pretty much a given.. I'll have the egr mapped out when I get the remap.. If the egr's not filth...

Re: B5.5 130 egr delete q's
You don't even really need the delete as pulling the vac line and plugging said line will disable egr . With delete you also get rid of ASV that could of saved a rare turbo runaway . That's what I did with the Golf (plugged the pipe and blanked the bit that gets blanked - to/from the exhaust I thin...

B5.5 130 egr delete q's
Q1. Will the egr kit I bought (from Eric off Facebook) for the ASZ golf fit the AWX Passat?
Q2. Is the fitting procedure the same?
Q3. Anyone got a link to a video of the fitting please? (I'm OK with spannering, and think I know, but like to be 100% sure of what I'm doing)

Re: MOT passed but with advisories
Cheers..
Not sure whether to have at it, assuming I can find the right part, or leave it be - I've heard horror stories about these pinch bolts..
In an ideal world I'd replace the whole shooting match but am not in a position to invest that much in this car..

Fitting HIDs to the fogs will be difficult to say the least so LEDs would be the way to go unless they are cack. LEDs in fogs are cack. I've got them in my Amarok to match the xenons, but have rewired them to work with main beam. Not for the extra light, but to look kinds cool (IMO) when I flash. S...

Re: Budget tyres fitted 3A P606
We fitted 4 new Roadstone SP04's (225/45/17) to the mk4 golf about 6 months ago..
They grip well, are quiet, are wearing ok and were £170 delivered plus £40 for local fitting
Done about 7k miles in the dry and wet..
Would buy again without hesitation.
