Re: Overheating help
Thanks for the reply. Everything else seems to be working Ok. I mention the fan as normally when I stop the engine and get out of the car you can hear it working overtime. I haven't noticed that. Just seems really bizzare. Wouldn't the sensor always be an issue though?

Re: Overheating help
Normal driving on both occasions. Can't hear the fan when I've stopped driving like I normally can but finding it odd that's it's maintaining temperature of 90c after the initial overheating even when I give it some

Re: High Mileage 2.0 R Line DSG - Buying Advice
First thing to look out for- at that mileage it should've had the gear box oil and filter done twice.
Obviously check other service records too.
Could be wrong but I think it'll be due a few more things at that mileage to like water pump maybe?
Hopefully others will be able to advise you further.

That's really terrible. Good luck with the new motor whatever you get. Any ideas?

Re: Hello there
Welcome.
Is the cutting out the car stalling or is it start/stop trying to kick in the failing in some way? I want to say I've experienced this but to be honest I've disabled my start/ stop and I really don't like it with the dsg gear box.

Answered my own question by ringing VW. Yes it does need doing at 40k. Can't see any mention in the service book annoyingly

Service schedule
Hi all,
So car needs a service and done just over 40k miles. Service book has no information at all about what should be included. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
It's a DSG so more thinking about does that need a service? Seen somewhere that it might.
Cheers
Jamie

Yes. Used to use sport in the summer on setting 3 I think. Then eco in the winter which still removed any lag.
Sport+ mode was bloody mental!

Re: Pedal boxes
They're brilliant. Had one on my old insignia from DTUK. 160 diesel and had to use eco mode in winter otherwise was almost constant wheel spin.
Haven't got one in the Passat mind you because it doesn't feel as bad as the insignia was.

Is the SD card reader not in the glove box. My 17 plate B8 has that.

Android auto negates the need in my opinion. Button even works with Android auto.
