Mine does the same, I was told it could be the starter... it turns over when warm (has shaken like yours before) and sometimes catches. Other times I've had to wait or keep trying until it does.
Nothing came up on VCDS.

There's also a talk of the ultra low emission zone being stretched out side of central London. If so I haven't got any car/bike/van that complies - unless I pay £10-12 a day charge.

The question is, how is your neck?

I've managed to bend a piece of wire, then using the gap that you've got pushing it around the latch. Once around then pull sideways and bonnet raise.

Re: OSF Front Headlight Bulb (OEM Xenon)
Thanks guys, does anyone know if they're indeed a D1S or D2S? Hoping to get one before removing the old one.
Second, can they be replaced without dropping the bumper?
Thanks

OSF Front Headlight Bulb (OEM Xenon)
Hi all, It seems this car is beginning to test me once again! Did over 400 miles yesterday with no issues - today I come to use her and the bulbs are giving me jiff. The car was originally bought salvage with damage focused on the OSF. After I replaced all the damaged (jigging, wing, bumper, bumper ...

Talk about silly, my neighbours Audi A4 would not charge properly due to the difference in batteries. Once I threw the details into VCDS it was back to normal!

Double check nothing is on draining the battery.
Have you changed the stereo or anything at all recently? Also, double check the glove box light and boot light as I've had the switch go and cause them to stay on.

Know how much you want to pay.... when I go see a car I usually do a "mot" style check, if anything is wrong that aids my bartering. Ask if any movement on price, then say what your hoping to pay (I usually go slightly less than my 'max'), they'll come down a little or stick and I'll say t...

Interior Blower Motor (Climatic) Replacement
Hi everyone, On my B6 the interior fan resistor pack went after being stood for some time so I replaced it with a gen VW one a few months ago. Lo and behold the thermal fuse on the resistor pack went again. After replacing it for a second time the fan is making a noise (as if the bearings on the fan...

Can you elaborate on the light? Any other symptoms?
Best thing you can do is either buy VCDS/VAG COM or find someone local to you who has it and will scan your Passat for you. Where in the country are you?

Re: Good advice needed. engine seized whilst at garage
When my B6 would turn over and not start, I'd get a low oil pressure warning flag up on the dash.
Has your engine actually seized as I doubt you'd get the warning if the engine wouldn't turn over. I see they said it won't turn but just confirming if it was running and seized...

Re: Can I swap BKP engines?
Finding a BKP engine that is genuine is easier said than done (well was when I needed a complete engine) You're better off replacing what's worn on yours and just maintaining it imo. I recently saw a taxi'd BKP with 400,000 miles on eBay. Oil pump let it down. When I did a swap the vacuum pipes/box ...

Re: B6 wide arches
I've seen body shops cut and weld in new metal to make a wider arch... you're better off asking local shops to see how much they'll cost. You'll also have to get wider wheels to fit the arches or proper hubcentric spacers.

Was it sold just before/after the MOT? I know cabs are MOT'd on a six month basis but doubt yours would've been cabbed if it was just the one. Car show rooms near me always MOT their vehicles irrespective of remaining months. You can send a form to dvla with a small amount and a reason (I've done it...

As with others. I'd look to get the DMF replaced as (unless you've got a spikey map) you're not going to want to drop the box again just to do the DMF (if you do you'll probably bang a new clutch in again)
