Re: Do your own air-con top up
There is a mobile air con chap near me that charges £35 for a complete pressure check, vac, lube and recharge of your a/c system, if he can't refill due to a fault he just charges £10 call out fee and will have a quick look to see where it's leaking, he will also put some dye in and leave you to rep...

Re: diesels scrappage
Yes exactly, it's the worst money making scam ever thought of, since it was fitted 4 months ago I've not driven down that road nor have many other locals forcing cars to use back roads to bypass them it doesn't even give you the 10% that's commonly known for speedo accuracy plenty of people have had...

Re: diesels scrappage
The Green party now that's a good one :hyst After living in the ONLY city in England with a green MP I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, so far she's single handedly ruined the local roads by placing speed humps everywhere at a cost of £122 million, these are now all being ripped up becasue they a...

The only time I remember my EML light flash was when the pre-cat Lambda sensor was on the way out, It did give a code so well worth scanning first I got a Bosch one from local factors for £80+ vat iirc

Re: The run up to tighter DPF laws
Well is anything at all going to happen ? As we know of late with the NOx and government debacle there is a lot of impractical hot air blown first ( scaremongering ) then a very dilute version arises . NOx has taken the heat away from diesel particulates a bit . Mot stations would have to invest he...

Isn't there a finance cooling off period ? Don't know but he's had it nearly 3 months now so probably well gone, I would imagine it was 7 or 30 days maximum if there is a cool off period, anyway buying an Alfa is buyer beware, but I have to say the 159 is most un-alfa like it's built by Italians, d...

Re: diesels
What annoys me with all this scrappage scheme is the people on a normal working wage etc that tries to keep the cost of motoring down now are being forced to scrap there cars either for an old petrol unless they are one of the very fortunate to be able to afford a new car, I have many friends that h...

Re: I'm new and possibly in trouble....
Quite common on an oil cooler failure just flush both systems out before filling with nice fluid, the AWT 1.8T is a very good engine and if well looked after more than capable of 200k+ but only use fully synthetic 5w30 or 5w40 oil nothing else and change every 6k miles or 6 months to help stop the s...

those are the sort of tools people on here could pay say £5 each per year membership to the forum and that would cover the cost for the forum to buy them and loan the tools out with a deposit (which covers the replacement cost should it get stolen/lost) then everyone could have access to these sort ...

Re: Be careful ECP / CP4L want to kill your camshaft
Why why why do I keep seeing posts about "what about this oil? It's a few quid cheaper than the proper proven one" What the actual @£)!... it's your engine people. Stop scrimping and just pay the circa £20 for 5L of quantum LL3 or whatever... why take the risk for the sake of a few quid. ...

Re: I've that sinking feeling.......brake pedal
Had this on my partners daughters 2003 Civic and after changing the master cylinder twice (secondhand one first then brand new one) it was better but the pedal still sank, eventually changed the ABS block and that cured it I bet you didn't need to change it, if you used a vacuum bleeder it would ha...

I believe you can just cut the plug off your old seat and use it in place of the one on the new seat and wiring colours are the same but I've not done it just read on here some time ago so either try a search or someone will have an answer soon

I cleaned mine a few years back. Was easy enough to get all the parts off but getting the buildup off was messy. Don't wear any clothes you want to wear again! Lol I used something called gunk green degreaser and a lot of scrubbing with a paint brush. Probably not the best method but left it soakin...

Well done :ymapplause: many people wouldn't tackle this job so give yourself a pat on the back, You'll now understand why some say it's easier to remove the complete engine & gearbox on a hoist from the from of the car, change what you need too then just slot it all back. But at least once your ...
