Re: HID kit

I am not worried when it comes to mot, they will be taken of when that time come one and standard bulbs fitted, look at that as you wish but vw std projector lens is poo, from luck of recommendation will just get a kit and see how it works.

Re: BKP Cold enigne starting problem

Thanks for links I managed to strip the starter motor today to have a look inside, as you would expect lot of dust, 1 brush out of 4 wasn't making contact, all brushes got clean and starter motor got put back, after inspecting it nothing looked bad, starter Commutator didn't look worn or any parts d...

Re: BKP Cold enigne starting problem

£98.35 Inc free delivery for a new Hella 2kw starter (dsg / auto needs the 2kw not the 1.7kw version). Mine is doing the same now - going to clean it like I did with the 20 year old Bosch one on a 1997 Fiesta. The difference is unbelievable and just dirt and carbon! Hi Do you have link? cheapest I ...

Re: B6 dsg buying advice

Mine done 164k, used daily and I do about 1k a month, DSG box works fine at this moment, with 2nd hand cars you just never know how it was run and you will always need to take a chance, if the car drives smooth with out clunking/clicking ect. I would say it should last, service cost of gearbox is ab...

Re: Emissions warning light 2007 tdi non dpf

I plugged vcds in. 1 fault code found. Glow plug 4 intermitnet electrical signal. Would this cause the emissions warning light to come on? Yes it would, looks like in VW the emission light is also engine management light, fault with glow plug or wiring would show as fault and trigger warning light....

Re: BKP Cold enigne starting problem

620cca is OK for a diesel but you can get much better. Mine is Yuasa Silver with 760cca but the Advanced XD 096 at Advancedbatterysupplies.co. uk. Online (£73) is a 780cca both have 5yr guarantee as does the more expensive Bosch S5 which is highly praised. Varta Silver E44 or the Exide 067TE (£68) ...

Re: BKP Cold enigne starting problem

Starter motor could draw too much current if faulty / sticky but could also struggle to turn a bad Dual Mass Flywheel the first time. Have you checked the diesel filter - if it is pitch black it could mean cross contamination by the tandem pump so should be changed. The lift pump in the tank could ...

Re: BKP Cold enigne starting problem

Well the official VCDS explanation of your fault is the injector or wiring so it may need a new loom. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/17669/P1261/004705 At 160k+ your injectors may also need a clean as mine had a fair amount of deposits on the nozzles at 185K and I clean the whole intake a...

Thanks for reply, my plugs have been changed to NGK and I have been told by vw there should be 7v, car registered 31/5/2007, there reason why I mention few glow plug cycles because anyone can refer to it, I would say still fuel related problem, isn't the glow plugs should only come one when is cold?...

Getting 44mpg on a 14 mile commute presently from cold since I changed my valve stem and injector seals plus a new tank pump. Haven't done a 50 mile journey yet so not sure what she will do. Giving it some in Sport mode still gets me 36 to 38mpg so not far off yours Smoky. I would say that's about ...
