Re: 200k Mile Service & New Front wing

Egr diaphragm is known to leaking through ventilation holes, but there isn't a solution as far as I know. People have replaced egr valve, but problem returned after quite short period. If egr is disabled, you can try to block these holes some how maybe :-? Egr has been removed, ill have another loo...

Re: 200k Mile Service & New Front wing

a bit off topic but when i las did a service and i was under the car there was quite a bit of oil on the sump which looked to come from down the drivers side of the block. I looked at the EGR and there was some oil from the diaphragm, i have since removed the EGR. Just wondering are there areas to l...

Re: 200k Mile Service & New Front wing

Oil + oil filter is definitely doable together, otherwise it's pointless. I'm doing oil+oil filter+ air filter every 10k miles. Fuel filter and pollen every 40-50k miles(every second year roughly), timing belt between 50-60k miles (60k is limit for my engine), water pump with new coolant at the sam...

Yeah i think id be doing 2 changes a year if it was every 10k. do you just do the oil at 10k or all the filters as well?

Re: 200k Mile Service & New Front wing

Then it's just a normal oil service, do brakes if they are worn, should change brake fluid at the same time if haven't done it before. Don't worry too much about miles you are doing. I'm on 360k miles, doing over 20k a year. Timing belt intervals and oil change intervals are two most important ones...

Re: egr delete/disable better or worse MPG??

I've done the ERG delete and do long distance miles in the car, i have seen a slight increase in MPG when driving conservatively on the motorway.

I didn't notice any major performance increase, picks up a bit quicker but nothing that made me sit back and think wow thats made a massive difference.

Re: 200k Mile Service & New Front wing

Yeah i guess the coolant would be pointless. Just wondered because of the mileage i am doing. I'd like to see how long i can keep the car running for. I have done gear box oil and pollen filter when i did my last service. I'll replace these as they don't cost much. Car seems to be running fault less...

200k Mile Service & New Front wing

Guy, Bit of advice needed. I have had my PD130 AWX estate for 9 months now and has served me really well. When I got it and changed the water pump and belts as it was due. I also gave it a service about 4 months ago (oil & filters). I mainly use it for traveling to work (motorway miles) and pott...

Ive put 4 new tyres on and still pulls to the left, not as bad but still does it.

Re: Seized track rod end

There is a special spanner / socket for doing this but even if you have to buy that on top of the cheap track rod and end it still comes out cheaper and better job than a tyre fitters would make of it. DO you have a link for said spanner? im just going to replace the full track rod so this will com...

On a b5.5 you only need VCDS lite and a cheap £5 cable off ebay to read and clear fault codes. http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds-lite/ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-Cable-KKL-VAG-COM-409-1-OBD2-II-OBD-Diagnostic-Scanner-VW-Audi-Seat-VCDS/112664323126? Re: What BHP/Engine

I had an A4 before my Passat with the 2.0 130BHP ALT engine. Pretty uninspiring to drive to be honest but gets the job done. Over 2k miles I averaged 32.3MPG (Actual). Over the 7.5k since, I have averaged 51.7 in my 130BHP Tdi. They have been a much more fun bunch of miles. Also, the Tdi is cheaper...
