Got mine from tps , they only cost a couple of quid if I remember

My vw passat sport tdi has got the dreaded gearbox whine , can anybody recommend any company's in kent that rebuilds them .
Any info would be appreciated

Cheers desertstorm, i will probably need to do some more homework ,I was told as I do about 40,000 mile a year, a gearbox rebuild would only be good for a couple of years ,

Hi all my 2004 tdi passat sport has developed the dreaded gearbox whine, from 3 gear upto 6th , I was wondering is it worth getting it rebuilt or would it be wise to put a v6tdi (dqs box ) in her,
If I have it rebuilt is the whine fault likely to return ,
Any info would be appreciated

I had the same starting issue with my 04 tdi sport,
mine turned out to be the glow plugs ,
have a feel around the rubber pipes from the turbo to the intercooler and back to the engine , my old paasat got a tiny hole underneath the rubber intercooler pipe (another pipe was just rubbing it )
