Re: Best Smart Phone Query?
Thanks for the posts! :-bd So think going to go with a Galaxy S2, hopefully going to try one out in the shop this week. Then the next step will be to decide whether to buy outright or some kind of contract deal, but just a bit wary as usually got to sign up for a couple of years. Couple of the local...

Re: is it much hassle fitting saloon interior to an estate??
Yes, the rear will never fit like factory unless your VERY handy with needle and thread, trying to get it to fold down like the estate interior is also a pig. ~x( Swapped it over on mine and took ages to get to a stage where it fits and works, but a long way from looking like its meant to. :(( But a...

HTC had been mentioned as a good buy if on a budget, so will take a look at the contracts and see what good deal I can get.
So basically, HTC for value, S2 good screen if got money and Iphone if money no object.

Can't seem to find anything that will stick mine on permanently, tried about every glue and adhesive and nothing seems to work long term with the plastics.
Car looking good mate!

Had to change mine this weekend for the B5, just gently take the fob apart into two, then flick the cover up and you should then see the battery, bought mine from local Asda store. 5 minute job mate and no reprogramming needed.

Re: Estate rear washer jet
Aye, mine seems to shoot back into the car from the black plastic piece on the end of the main tube through the spindle?!
Think will have to get some pennies saved up and buy the rebuild kit.

Re: Estate rear washer jet
Would this explain why mine squirts into the boot rather than on the screen?
Had it apart thinking the tube was blocked, cleaned it all up and put it back together and still just ends up soaking my boot.

You might want to check if it will still be legal to use lamin-X with the new MOT changes, especially if got HID's.

If you think these new changes for cars are bad, you ought to read what they are trying to push through for Motorbikes! X( Everything from compulsory wearing of Hi-Viz clothing 24-7, all year round, to making it illegal to make ANY non-standard alterations to your engine, even a K&N Filter would...

mini_dub you'll be ok mate, 2-3 months grace according to the blurb, worst you'll get is an advisery but after that anything is a fail. Yep, had me worrying as replaced my front seats and the new ones don't have side airbags, so strictly speaking they aren't original to the car, knew I'd have...

Just remember you need High-Temp glue if retrimming the headlining otherwise you'll end up with a sagging roof the first hot day of the summer.

Same as everyone else, got a list of niggly faults, Airbag Warning light on, a/c has a mind of its own, rear boot light still not working, rear window wiper squirter puts more inside the car than on the window, few rust bubbles, the Mrs now scraped the front bumper as well as the rear..................

Re: Seat swaps
Just converted Saloon rears to go into my Estate mate and to be honest it ain't worth the hassle and the fit will never be 100%. Might be easier the other way? The saloon half leather/alcantara was too good a price to pass up and fairly local, but if I'd got the money I would have been patient and w...

Re: TDI Doing into limp mode when accelerating
Hello mate, common problem with Diesel Passats.
Do a search on forum as various solutions, depending on how deep your pockets are!
Mine used to do it but took some advice and now just shove some Diesel Cleaner in the tank everytime I do a long journey, haven't had the problem since.

Really like the show, bit more down to earth than alot of the others, especially the yank ones.
Interesting watching some of the old episodes and how the prices have changed, Mk1 Golf for example and evan the recent Audi Quattro, how much would that have been worth now?
