As above mate, they are like a thin metal strip and just take a bit of fiddling with, easier with the handle off of the door.

What you doing with them? Can be polished up with a bit of elbow grease.

Keep'em as is mate and use them over the winter, any fancy boots you get can be sat indoors in the dry and warm away from months of winter road salt.

Just make sure they are bonded, glued and screwed to the car mate, easily knicked by scum. Had mine lifted while the car was on the driveway one night. Worse thing is it had to be a fellow VDubber to know how to take them off without breaking them.
