Have a look at rokkor stuff Tom.
It's racelands sister company (or something like that), I had some on my old b5.5 (see sig pic) and they gave a good drop.

Re: On the off chance...
I just dont get why you would do that! I mean they had minor curbing when Jack took it, but my god what did he do to it, his brother said the clutch was fine and then maybe a month later he came to a meet and told me he'd driven it so hard the clutch went and he'd had to replace the tyres, good job...

I paid £520 + the dreaded vat. I probably could of got one cheaper but lack of time wasn't helping... They take the old turbo directly back to garret too.Jarek wrote:Any more details on where and how much?
Better than vws £700+vat though!!!

the guy said he was going to 'do it up' after the idiot I sold it to thrashed it senseless.. I really hope he does, I even asked if he'd sell it back to me.. I couldn't believe the state of the rims let alone the rest of the car. The state of the wheels is no surprise if you'd of seen them shovelli...

I knew who you first sold it to (jack) but it then sold to someone else in this neck of the woods (Somerset) and I'm afraid to say it was gradually getting worse

Re: My B6 wagon - air ride + broken!!!
Hooray get my b6 back this afternoon!! Can wait :D Just a pointer for anyone who faces this issue... Garret don't supply any company the original bearings for a recon on the turbo for a 2.0 tdi. They will only give you a new replacement with which you return the turbo to them to avoid surcharge. So ...

Well all finished today in just under 2 hours :D Makes me wonder why it takes VW so long to fix that  Overall it took me about 4 hours to do first one with no experience on diesel engines what so ever :hyst Total cost £210 :-bd Now collecting bits in case second goes. Or for when it goes.......

Cheers guys, wife's car is all sorted. My turbo is being sorted out this week. Going into my local trusted independent who is going to get an exchange unit. The company he uses for turbos have a good relationship with his garage and adjust the surcharge amount depending what needs doing (I.e. If the...

Re: My B6 wagon - air ride + broken!!!
Damage wasn't too bad, they'd tried to get a bar down the side of the door which bent the skin slightly and smashed the drivers front window. I managed to straighten the door and we had a new window fitted for a lot less than the insurance wanted for excess. I've had to cancel the bodyshop booking f...

Re: My B6 wagon - air ride + broken!!!
Cheers guys. Been a bit of a bad day. Luckily I was on a late shift so i spent most of the morning sorting her car out. Hoovered out the whole interior and straightened the door (they'd tried to break in with a bar of some sort before smashing the window). Turbo wise it's definitely going and on it'...

Re: My B6 wagon - air ride + broken!!!
Oh the joy! Turbo has died on my wagon so now got to try and find the £££ to replace it. Oh the joys of motoring!
Guess it hasn't done too bad though as the car is on 122k an original turbo.
Just to add insult to injury my wife's touran was broken into last night aswell!

Re: MY PASSAT B6 ON AIR RIDE
Yikes! I have to run about 2.5-3bar to avoid the driveshaft rubbing at the front. I can drive with the back aired out though on the stock wheels lol.
Will have to look at trimming the rear bumpstops a touch more once the 19s are on to get the appropriate stance ;)

Re: MY PASSAT B6 ON AIR RIDE
Absolutely stunning Mark! Have you had a chassis notch when your air ride was fitted? I could never run mine that low at the momen without one... That or it's the combination of small wheels/rubber. Good snaps... As a fellow photographer there's a couple of things I personally would of done slightly...

Welcome from a fellow b6 owner. The wheel bolts you're looking at... Are you sure they're not the plastic caps?? There should be a bent wire tool for removing them in the polystyrene panel next to the spare wheel along with jack, wheel brace, locking wheel nut key. Look forward to seeing some pictur...

Re: '01 Passat B5.5 Sport
Really nice looking motor.
Have you put lamin-x on to tint the rear lights? Or is it spray tint? I was tempted to do this on my b5.5 but was worried about the issue with indicator/reversing light colour and thus hassle from the police.
