Re: Tyre choice

I have vredstein Quatrac 3 tyres which are all season tyres but I tend to agree that bits of norfolk flint get caught In winter treads and cause punctures. Hopefully the quatrac 4's are better. All being well next year I will be on 18s (when I find some) and Barum tyres which were really good on my ...

Whats with all the Russian Spam at the moment?

Its getting ridiculous now chaps. Had a similar problem when moderating the T4 and the problem went away with an update to the software. Maybe more moderators is the answer either way its really annoying.

As said, there is no way of knowing until someone fits some. I can only vouch for the T4 and the ride was plush, even with standard new Meyle shocks.

Re: Vogtland suspension

I dont know what they are like for the Passat but my T4 springs are Vogtland and they are easily as good as the Eibach springs with a nicer ride height.

Re: Car taking too long to warm up :-(

There are many threads that pop up each year regarding TDI's taking a long time to warm up and reduced fuel economy etc. The TDI engine is a lot more thermally efficient than a petrol engine. You put less fuel in and convert more of the energy to power rather than heat. Thats why TDI's have supplem...

Nothing out of the ordinary then, just seemed a little strange to me. Mine also has EGR blanked and mapped out.

Car taking too long to warm up :-(

Morning all Now that we have hit the colder weather i am starting to find that my car is not fully up to temperature even after driving 12 miles to work. Does this sound normal to you guys because it doesn't sound right to me! I know that the pre-heater is showing a fault behind the dash but surely ...

We need videos for the sound bud, loving your work and determination to keep in on the road! My t4 has a 3" stainless but its a clattery AHU engine from a MK3 Golf and i would love to hear the true note of a PD :-)

Thanks for the confirmation chaps :-) I don't thik i will bother test fitting as they have massive tyres on for the T4 and would look daft if they fit at all.

Re: Ebay magic...

Most things I buy online I look on as disposable. Once borken it is in the bin regardless as I cannot be bothered to send it back and faff about. There is a lot to be said about proper old fashioned shops as you can take things back. I'm lucky though as I'm near to the 'shops' and don't buy much ex...

+1 on the factory Westfalia, my B6 has one hidden behind a proper removable panel in the valance so the bar is invisible when removed and cover in place, there is even a cutout for the hitch to go in the boot when its not in use.

Re: B7 Estate Sub enclosure

I was told i couldnt get low level outputs on my MFD2 DVD Navi unit in my B6 but i managed to do it by installing connectors into one of the plugs. Pull the unit and have a look at the wiring diagram, takes less than 2 minutes to remove and check with the correct tools. I would have one of these enc...

I have done some research on this and another common issue is the starter gumming up not allowing it to turn quick enough. Mine will be coming off for a strip and clean soon as my battery is fine.

make sure dsg was serviced right and that is working right... can be an expensive game... if it does work right you will love it Fully agree, DSG is great especially if you have paddle shift for more predictable overtaking. 30 to 70 mph the kickdown is adictive and so is the standing start. I still work for VW, parts supervisor & warranty administrator. I'd have kept the warranty administration part quiet. There's a lot on here who are quite unhappy with VW's warranty. Especially the 12 year paint warranty. Be prepared to be bombarded lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk LOL i'm...

Very sad situation and its a shame the owner of the dog didn't have proper control over the dog in the first place. It could have been much worse.
