Re: Gear box oil

That reminds me of a conversation i heard at a show about timing belts, a guy said he was told the timing belt would last the life of the engine the next guy said the one on his Mk1 Scirocco Gti had broken at 175000 and the engine was far from being done. It's easy for them to say it's filled for li...

Re: replacing reverse gear switch AVF with G0K 6 speed box

Take off the drivers front wheel and go in from there its above the heatshild above the drive flange, youll probably find the wiring first and be able to follow that, I did mine with a socket, extention and flex head ratchet cant remember the size sure the new one was a different size to the old one...

Re: b5 tailights and US marker lights

Go down the dealers and order them simples, I ordered a pair of front ones last month, they struggled a bit to start with as they are listed for American market models, they said they were back ordered but came within the week, as far as I can remember they were around £18 each, the bulb holders wh...

Re: Passat B5 2002

Easier way to get to these connectors is, from inside the wheel arch where the ABS sensor wiring goes into the car pull out the grommet and the red and black plugs will be found behind the grommet, (red plug pad wear wires, black plug ABS sensor wires), lot easier than going behind the glove box or ...

New mot fail for Diesel cat removal from Feb 16

As title says new reason for rejection in Mot from Feb 16th, if catalytic convertor (or DPF) was fitted as standard item on a diesel vehicle, its removal will mean Mot Fail, I know they were not a mandatory fitting but I would imagine they are saying the car was type approved with one fitted so it m...

Re: Wiper wont turn off

Little update, looking at a wiring diagram on Autodata fuse 27 goes straight to the rear wiper motor and the washer pump is connected across 2 of the other wires to the rear wiper motor and one of those wires also goes to pin 53c on the front wiper motor control relay, speaking to a guy I know and h...

That sound very interesting as I changed mine(rain sensing) for an ordinary relay and all was well for 3 weeks then it started happening again, this time I tried plugging in another wiper motor as someone suggested it could be that but it made no difference, I tried another ordinary relay and alls w...

Remember if the water pumps gone, the heater will blow cold, also if the heater matrix is leaking it will leak coolant into the cabin and you will get condensation on your windows, check for wet carpets

Re: PD130 loss of coolant, low temp, leak out the expansion

Is the heater still producing plenty of heat? The reason I ask is last year my car was loosing water, it turned out that the head gasket was just starting to go but one strange thing it did was that driving up a long incline the heater would start blowing cold, also driven hard up an incline the tem...
