Re: VW techs, let me pick your brains.. car shudders.

Thanks for your input guys.

In regards to the map, is it simply a case of changing some values and re-installing it or shall I go for all-new one?

Thanks once again.

Re: 99 saloon project

Get the seal cord it'll cost you but it's the best way of fixing it. Alternatively get some good silicon sealant but I wouldn't do that.. There are few other ways in which water can get into the B5/B5.5. I would recommend checking the rear doors (inner seals) as this was where the water was getting ...

Re: 2.0tdi BKP - won't start

Just had my 'SSAT scanned and no related errors were detected. It came up with a driver and tail gate lock errors that cleared and old audio error that is there since I have upgraded the head unit. Steering column and ignition switch are working well. After 15min of playing with cables it turned out...

VW techs, let me pick your brains.. car shudders.

Two things that I was planning to get done this year were new clutch and DMF. This is due to the fact that clutch needs changing anyway but even more so to the fact that car shudders when accelerating gently in higher gears. This is a rather annoying to say the least but since I was going to change ...

Re: best alloys for looks etc lowering I am.new to site

It all depends on how low you want it, how you use it and what's your budget. Springs will give gentle drop and good ride, coilovers will allow you to go lower but may not be as comfy and air will let you go down to the ground.

You can check my build/rebuild thread to see how B6 (estate in my case) looks like with some dish.

Re: best alloys for looks etc lowering I am.new to site

First of all I would suggest to drop it a little so wheels won't look out of place. Once that's done, don't go smaller than 18". If you want to go 17" go OEM.

Stay away from Dare wheels if you can.

Re: B6 wagon project.

I haven't been here for a while. As most of you will know 'the most expensive passat in the world' failed me again. I am hoping that it is only a case of getting new starter motor but as I do not want that happening in the future steering column and ignition switch will get looked at (just in case)....

Re: Help! Passat wont start or even turn over

If you have the steering column fault coming up, get it sorted now before you cant move the car at all, not even release the epb. I will deffo get it sorted asap as I do not fancy it failing (fully) on me. I will start from starter motor and even if it will cure the problem steering column will be ...

Re-heating this old thread! Probably no one will care but let me share it with you! This sounds EXACTLY (and I will say that again, EXACTLY) like all the problems that I have been experiencing during last month or so that ended yesterday with my car refusing even to crank over! I'll get the starter ...

Re: 2.0tdi BKP - won't start

If it was a clutch pedal sensor issue I would expect the dash to tell you to press the pedal down (You could try starting it without the pedal pressed down to prove the point). When this happened to me it was down to two things. Initially it was a dodgy starter motor (solenoid had fried itself) but...

Can you tell me where to look for that cable?

It'll get scanned tonight!

2.0tdi BKP - won't start

So, I have just came back from Poland. My passat made it there and back without no problems, any at all.... Can you believe it?? Yeah, it sounded too good to me too! As I unloaded it yesterday I told my GF how pleased I was with it! I needed to go shop this morning and as I got to the car everything...

It won't start at all now!

Everything seems to be OK, no errors or anything. It just won't turn over! EPB and everything else seems to be working OK. It just won't turn when I press the key!

Please help!
