Thats bad luck, maybe needed to peel it off earlier while it was wet.

The other option is don't mask up and use a microfibre to clean all the mess once its dried. I did this with the over spray on my windows.

I wouldn't worry about primers with trim. Just make sure you get plenty of coats on and allow for drying between coats.

What is it you are spraying? Is it the rattle can youre using?
