All sorted........ i managed to pull the edge of the wheelarch liner towards the wheel, to reveal the motor. when topped up the water was coming from the casing of the motor. This was my last passat, i fitted these fog lights.

Update....... i did get it sorted..... eventualy....... it was a fuse in fusebox. Think it was the hazard fuse. The fuse looked fine, the wire was not broken , but when replaced the hazzards worked. I recomend buying a new fuse anyway, see if that cures your problem. Worked for me ! Good luck.

That sounds normal, as the water it the block reaches 90c the thermostat starts to open, allowing cold water into the block. this shows up as the temp drops slightly. Then as all the water warms , the thremostat opens fully and temp shows 90c.

You dont say what engine & year you've got ?

Passats have a fully galvanised body, usualy if there is rust it is down to a previous accedent repair area.

I've got 6K 50w ones & they are about 30% brighter than my mates 35W ones. Had mine for about 2 yrs now, best mod i've done !

I've got the 50w kit,6k, & its very bright, takes about 2 min to get to full brightness, can't say how much better than the 35w kit they are but i dont think i've seen any other car headlights that look brighter.... & it passed the MOT without a second glance from the tester !

"up in the air" (at 90 deg from windscreen)be carefull, start at one end, they break easily, & dont leaver it away from the windscreen with a screwdriver etc, i heard of people cracking the windscreen doing this..... good luck
