Re: Please help Sold Car Privately
Stick to your guns then & tell him where to go. Would you buy a 2010 golf privately without having it checked out first. Well i wouldnt so again it comes back to buyer beware. If he gets aggresive just get the mrs ti call the police whilst you try to calm the situation. Its his own fault & w...

Re: Please help Sold Car Privately
As far as i know its buyer beware when it comes to a private sale unless your a trader & he can prove it. It is a commin practice for the golf to be returned to you with a stolen i.d on it & the legit i.d gone. Beware.. Did he fill out the yellow traders transfer slip from the v5. The car ma...

Re: fuel smell
Any decent motor factor will have a fuel filter in stock. Lift the bonnet & on the left side the filter canister /housing is staring you in the face. Looks like a silver dish with 4 spouts coming out facing different directions all connected to fuel lines. Around the edge of the dish is about 8 ...

Re: fuel smell
Check the fuel filter canister under the bonnet. The seal is weak & can easily leak. It's on the left side with 4 pipes coming off it. Mine only leaked when the car was started from cold so it must be under higher pressure till its warmed up. There may be some diesel on the inner wing & unde...

Re: Any rough idea how much to repair this accident damage?
Go through the insurance & let her insurance write your car off & haggle fir the full market value back. Once they cat c or d yours you can then continue to use your car & tax it mot it & insure it as lonf as you still own the car. It will need a vic check when u sell the car. Most p...

Re: how far on a tank
Might be worth getting under the car & inspect the fuel tank for any wet patches/weeping or jack it up & check for a sticky brake & check your tyre preassures. An economy re-map may also help.

Try contacting some localish tuning services as there more likely to do this kind of job. Do not get it cored out as you will be found out next year on the mot emissions test. I have got to have mine put back in & found a used dpf off a 2010 model with 28k for £200. Try motorhog & other on...

Re: how far on a tank
The bhp figures will come down next month as a dpf filter is being fitted. Next year all dpf model diesels will come under much more strict emissions testing so anyone out there thats also had there dpf cored out i would advise to go get yourself a good low mileage second hand filter now before they...

Mechanical mods are - k&n tyhoon filter, allard egr delete, dpf core, stainless straight through dual exhaust , stage 2 clutch & a rolling road custom re-map. Will dig out the print out for the exact figures but think its 223 bhp. Its just under on the emissions & its all taking its toll...
