it usually throws a fault code and tells you which cylinder to thats how i changed mine , i just had one spare coil you see and all seems fine , you could replace all four , but why fix it iff it aint broke , should show up after a scan as mis fire on what ever ? good luck

First off if check the alternator belt as that's easy. Then check steering fluid levels. Then I'd move onto harder items like upper bushes snd inner track rod joint. Word of warning about the power steering fluid change, what ever u do don't let the reservoir run dry. It can suck air into the pump ...

As ur probably aware there quite complex the front suspension setup which causes a few headaches when trying to locate knocking, groaning, creaking and tapping noises. First off all acertain which side the noise is coming from if any it could be that clutch pulley. If u find it groaning from one side jack up, locate two upper arms. Look up into the arch where the strut goes between the arms. Where the arms attach to the upper mount bracket is the "bush"...

U say grinding? Could u have mistaken it for a groaning noise? Only ask as I had it on slow steering a few times. Not the actual clutch, but the alternator has a clutch in the pully and that can sieze up causing the belt to jump at low revs. You buy a new clutch pully for the alternator and you need a special tool to get it off and put the new one on. PM adamss24 about the tool as he did mine when it happened....

Well I had this at low revs when turning the wheel towards fully lock either way, and it turned out to be the alternator clutch pulley had siezed. does that mean new clutch then ?? and how did you sort this problem out mate ...the misses said when she pushed the clutch in today there was a wierd gr...
