Re: DAB aerial recommendations
I bought one similar to this a few months ago and it was even cheaper than the £15.59 this one is! Works perfectly. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Roof-Mount-Active-DAB-with-FM-Car-Radio-Aerial-Antenna-Mast-Amplifier-Built-UK/333337934131?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item4d9c7d3933:g:fSIAAOSwmXtdiYx-&...

Re: Wheel bearing failure...so soon!
Can i be cheeky and ask another question?...i dont want to shell out for a bearing drift kit (if i can help it) so i'm thinking of taking my car to one of those 'rent-a-ramp' type places where you can use their compressor/tools (ramp of course)etc. and they only have a bearing press. Would i need t...

Re: Brake back plates
I took mine off and painted them up, i'll see if I can dig out some pics later. The triple square bolts were indeed as crusty as a flakey pastry beef and onion pie but came out. I think the mistake that many make is assuming, and quite rightly due to the rust, that they are hex bolts and not triple ...

Re: I've been putting off asking this on here but...
I've very recently had my clutch done by Minimetal (Aiden) off here on my 5 speed AWX 5.5. Previously I had the cold judder and some slippage along with, an unknown to me, very heavy pedal. It had been like this for a long time. The clutch plate was down to the rivets! The flywheel was ok'ish but th...

How the hell did you afford the insurance, that was way beyond my reach as an 18-19 year old.
The MK1 was my second car, my first being one of these...
Same colour, in fact exactly like that car.

Re: You know your getting old when....
Lol , I had the Moss Cyclops on the back shelf with two blinds on the MK1 Goof . Didn't do the window sticker , left that for the Ford gay guys . Did do the red reflective plastic backflash where the number plate was . I had a MK1 Golf back in the day as a new driver, a 1.3CL which I made look like...

Re: You know your getting old when....
F*****g luxury :hyst When I was young, a Sparkrite electronic ignition kit, a Harry Moss alarm (with the cylon sensor on the back shelf), a "digital" radio cassette and a pair of bolt on spotlights were the ultimate mods. Having a "back flash" sticker over the whole rear window w...

Re: in cockpit Vibration 2003 AVF 4motion passat
Don't feel anything, at least when the engine is running! Just watch the belt and tensioner, it should be nice and smooth not like this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8735oG0k8Y Not the same exact engine but you get the idea. Other than the two things I've mentioned, I don't know, it is likely ...

Re: in cockpit Vibration 2003 AVF 4motion passat
Two things spring to mind;
1, Alternator pulley, does the tensioner and aux belt move about a lot?
2, Duel mass flywheel, does it go away when you find and hold the biting point on the clutch?

As some of you may know, since photobucket shat itself... Anyway, I think I've sussed out tapatalk!, I think. Purpose of this is a test post and also to show the gauges I've relocated up into the headlining since I fitted a double din a few months back. I still need to connect into the senders which...

Re: Gauges relocation in B5.5
I had one in my previous B5.5 and my MK4 Golf many years ago.
But despite being quite entertaining to look at they are rather pointless as it is quite obvious if you have boost or not.
A three bar VDO boost gauge is about £60 so I'll probably not bother again.
