Re: B6 internal driver side door lever
Unlikely as the Bowden cable fits into a ring hole on the back of the lever and hence the ring is not visible. The door card comes off by undoing a few bolts under the trim panels and popping the clips at the base and sides of the door card. Reconnecting the Bowden cable is easy once the panel is pu...

Re: Replacement key for B6
The article I referred to does state (quote below) that where certain technology has been used (suggests from 2007) that there is no known method of obtaining and programming a key independent of the dealer... "NOTE: The newest keys after around 2007 use additional encryption on the immobilizer...

Re: Replacement key for B6
Unfortunately it isn't the key that's the problem it's the Immobiliser system. A £25 eBay key may be able to open and close your car etc but it will not enable you to start and run your car because the cars immobiliser circuitry will not recognise it. Cars with IMMO4 and IMMO5 immobiliser technolog...

Thought it might be, same engine code as mine so you have the 4 stud hub.

Re: Front bearing hub 3 or 4 stud?
Mine's an 07 Sport 170 DSG and the hub has 4 large Torx studs.
The outer bearing is a roller type held tight by the hugely torqued hub bolt.
If you let me know your engine code I can tell you exactly what you have.

Re: Front suspension rattle
Engine mounts perhaps? Particularly the engine to subframe lower mount? I say this as the steering box is located on the subframe which is connected to the bottom of the engine by a short bushed arm, have you checked the inner bush which is hidden between the engine and subframe?? Hth.

Re: What goes in here?
Prices are a bit of a joke for such small units. There's probably cheaper sets out there, just haven't found them yet. Wanted silicone hoses for my 170pd but only Forge Motorsport seem to do them £157 for four pipes mmmm, almost tempted!

Re: What goes in here?
Hi RichardSEL, The indicator unit has a reflector portion to the outer side of the indicator bulb to enhance the turn signal strength. The unit itself is deeper at the bulb end and thinner at the reflector end and therefore not really suitable for extra lighting without modifying the aperture. I'm s...

Re: new B6 owner and bricking it
Bought my B6 170 14 months ago replacing an E39 Bimmer which although heavier was such a comfortable ride but sluggish and thirsty. My B6 though...sooo quick (forget the official stats I've had a timed 0 - 60 of 6.9 seconds STOCK!) and currently averaging 48 mpg using a liberal amount of Sport Mode ...

Re: loss of power
Bit of a broad question . Turbos can go at any mileages for lots of reasons.. ..do you get any engine warning lights? If you do then a fault diagnostic will narrow this down a bit. Post any fault codes to enable us to assist, thanks.

The DSG oil and filter change for me via VW was £269 inclusive of VAT last December so unless they have put their prices down?...yeah right! Still they did all other relevant checks as part of the job telling me that the £200 I later spent on items flagged up was really £750!!! "If Carlsberg...
