You can check online with just the reg number and it will tell you if it has been done. Not sure if it tells you when it was done but the local dealer should be able to tell you

Its normally in the back extra work of the service book or possibly a sticker under the boot carpet in the spare wheel well. Could of got updated at a later service without you knowing too

Have you checked to see if your car has the emissions updates? Egr is covered if update has been done

Sounds like the reverse switch is stuck on? Worth a quick check

Pretty sure genuine egr valves are around £300 ish so you could definitely half the cost at a decent independent

How bad was the dmf failure before it was changed, how long was it left while making noise?
I've known the gearbox input bearings wear as the forces from dmf movement caused the shaft to move too much.

My mates 05 auto has one, made changing the turbo much more difficult!

Is this a b5 or b5.5? Never had any trouble in my b5.5

Have you tried expanding the clips that hold the inner pad to the piston? I've had a few that make a noise as the pad isn't held tightly to the piston

Febi stuff in my experience is not worth the money, only a years warranty and I've had a few bits wear out before that!
Trw is oe on alot of Volkswagen brakes etc so worth a look but also the meyle hd stuff is decent

Well I've never heard of that, surely you not the first to have a reverse switch fail and pull the fuse?! Good find though and something to note for the future!

I also haven't heard of them leaking its normally the tandem pump or gasket down the back of the head

In your pic the ratchet is on the tre pinch bolt, it's not the upper arm pinch bolt he's trying to do hopefully!

If your really not sure ring the station that did the mot. Testers do vary opinions so ask the bloke who did the test

From what I can remember there isn't anything about how the light is produced just that it has to be red and same position on the car.
If you have the original lights why not stick them both back on save any bother
