Re: CV outer boot replacement suggestions?

Blow torch on that bolt knuckle for 30 seconds, then punch and hammer it will come free. But yeah, no need to undo them for cv boots.. actually no real need to take the shaft out either, if you jack the hub up about 5cm it will come free from the spline, will take you about 20 mins start to finish t...

Re: hammerite smooth

Rowan used the gold on his, looks good. Don't waste time taping things, just take the retainer clip off, unbolt the 2 caliper bolts and do it properly, looks 100 times better.

Re: oil light

I never bothered, depends how fussy you are about not being told the bonnet is open I guess, I was more concerned with the oil light.. once you disconnect the battery it won't come back

Bonnet catch switch, exactly the same fault on mine. Disconnect your battery for 10 minutes, reconnect and as if by magic it will be gone..

Adam, I have a complaint. You almost caused a crash as you were driving down twelve acre drive the other day. Will you PLEASE stop making your car look awesome, that way I will keep my eye on the road and not bury my old mans car into a ditch. Ta. Oh, and apparently, we are almost neighbours.... aga...

Re: Suspension arms help!

I mean, apart from the arms, I'd recommend you invest in a couple of OE CV boot kits. After mine was lowered I went through about 4 in a short space of time, only after I lowered it..

Re: Suspension arms help!

I fitted the meyle HD kit to my old passat the reasoning being the oe arms were never intended to deal with the extra stresses of lowering etc.. so by fitting cheaper arms to a lowered passat, I was only going to have to change them again.. not a job i wanted to do more than once.. HD kit fitted and...

I'M BACK!

Well its been almost 3 years, a run of an Audi 80 cabrio, mk3 estate and an A4 saloon but it appears I've been dragged kicking and screaming (partly thanks to rowan) back into a rather lovely B5.5 TDi sport wagon purchased from Billy VW yesterday.. Haven't got anything in the way of pictures at the ...

Drakie has been raving about your engine cover, thought I'd pop in and have a gander.

Mate, what can I say.. if I was ever tempted back to a pawagon, I'd be happy if it looked even half as good as yours.

yeah it was a 10", I took out all the plastic jack holder etc.. tried fitting a 12" but there was just no room to get a big enough mounting plate in that recess without taking the molding out. GRP is definitely the way forward, I'd just make sure you stick some dynamat or similar down insi...
