I've got a known quantity mec. pump from an AAZ (was in my '95 B4 then my '87 mk2 Golf before I tdi'd the golf)
was reconditioned about 6 years ago & has been of an engine for a year (with fuel-fittings blanked)
would be collection only
what they worth?

Re: Convert VR6 from Auto to manual
the corrado dash cluster is a direct fit in a B4, you may need the corrado's sub-loom from cluster to fusebox BUT it will probably work with the B4's one :-bd as to gearboxes, any vR6 or V5 5Speed gearbox should fit the B4 (basicly same as a mk2 golf conversion) as to driveshafts, if the auto ones d...

iIrc, all brake pipe fittings on B3’s are m10 x 1
the only exception i can think of being possibly on the abs assembly (if fitted )

Re: 1Z TDi Lack of Power/Limp Mode Code 00575
That link is really helpful thanks Rich!. I spent a few hours on it yesterday, jacked it up and found where the wastegate is (awkward spot!!), the mechanism moves freely with a small pry bar, its hard to move (like its got a strong spring mechanism) but moves smoothly. I worked it a few times and s...

Re: 1Z TDi Lack of Power/Limp Mode Code 00575
I’d look at either the pipe from inlet manifold to ecu (& then inside the ecu to the ‘MAP’ sensor). OR a stuck wastegate arm in the turbos exhaust housing :- Seen this (& suffered) too many times so as a standard first port of call with limpmode caused under load / heavy acceleration uphill ...

Re: Mysterious connectors
Hi all, I found these two connectors, not connected to anything, under the gear lever gaiter of my B3. The wires on the larger one go forward, and backwards from the smaller one. Anyone know what they're for? I assume it's something to do with an auto box, but not sure. Cheers http://i63.tinypic.co...

B3 sill panels
My '89 B3 has decided that it's suffering from tinworm  so instead of patching the sill I'm looking for a decent panel, any ideas? Ideally I'm looking for a full sill that joins along the door-rubber seal's 'lip' so any suggestions greatfully received B-) All the he ones I've seen advertised ...

Sorry to be a potential Harbinger of doom & this is usually the worst case scenario :???: I'd Been having a wet issue with my '89 B3 Wagon & it turned out to be the bulkhead rusted below the wiper motor & hidden by the felt / tar insulation stuff, not an uncommon vw rot place  Rich.

Re: 1.8 turbo swap
It'll be mostly Mk2/3 golf as conversion, keep the tdi B4's gearbox as (should be CTN code??) it has probably the best ratios with a long 1st gear and high final-drive (I have CTN in my B3tdi & mk2 golf tdi, 3k rpm @ 90ish mph in 5th :-P ) The 1.8t / 20vt is not that inspiring a conversation unl...

Tdi'd my t4 4 years ago, just remember to use the b4's dash-cluster to fusebox sub-loom if you're wanting mfa, also, I found the ere was a live feed through the fusebox somehow missing in mine so the clocks were dead (maybe crossover between a '95 t4 & a '96 B4 :- ) Rich. Ps. Next you'll be want...
