Is there a crash sensor on the front panel? Cant say for sure but that's the only other thing I can think of that could be in that area if there is one

The non indicator mirrors are more rectangular than the indicator ones so cant be swapped.
Indicator ones are the same as b6 and mk5 golf

The metal ones are much better than the plastic oe ones, good tool to have!

Tps always was trade only but have recently really enforced it all round. They have can get massively to deal with even as trade, discounts have been cut etc

Wd40 to remove them, give them a twist and they slide off the arm. I use some rubber grease over the centre of the Bush and pin of the arm and they slide back on fairly easily.
Make sure you buy decent bushes, I can recommend the meyle hd bushes

What powers and earths do you have to the relay? Sounds like it's missing a trigger

Well that was lucky! Wouldn't expect it at 15k

The pickup is magnetic and built into the bearing I'm not aware it can be bought separately so new bearing before it wears through the new sensor and damages that too

Abs coding will be fine unless you have changed the module, the abs sensor will have been rubbed through by the abs ring on the back of the wheel bearing so a new one will be required

Would be worth eliminating the egr cooler from the system (so blank or bypass), have known coolers to leak exhaust gases into the cooling system on some newer cars.
If it's not that then looks like it will be of with the head!

That short hose looks like one fitted to a b6 to me

My blank idea was supposed to be a fault finding measure, blank see if it runs better. Old bit of coke can would do, as obviously on a b6 it would require mapping which would probably be more expensive than replacing the valve and the legal/mot implications

B5.5 total kerb weight is only around 1400kgs I think

Yeah its definitely less than a ton, only thing you may struggle with is to get the reach to lift it out you will have to extend which drops the capacity down

Blank the egr first, the 2ltr tdi have a habit of the flap falling off. That would cause smoking and lack of power. Cheapest thing to do first

Mine are long gone, cant say I've noticed the difference!
