Re: Sticking rear pad/calliper?
the only reason you don't use copper grease on cars with abs is that it can get on the sensors and rings which messes up the signal. Copper grease is fine with brake systems without abs - not much use to a B5.5!

Re: intercoolers
you'll need a custom remap and a beefier clutch to longterm hold the power.
If you are fitting a hybrid turbo there is no plug and play only plug, custom remap, then play.

Aaa pal ogies Gent iel men I was quoting from the following document which is not using celcius but farenheit!! https://www.fs.fed.us/eng/pubs/pdf/08511816.pdf But even so 700 f to c is 371.111 so my point remains, when the most efficient burn is from the most dense air meeting a good warm mix of fu...

For sure the DPF deletion will have side effects, but I've never heard of EGR deletion giving issues? Wasn't it only meant for very cold climates so in our climate it's fairly redundant anyway?

Re: 2.0tdi died after heavy acceleration and now won't start
Sorry that is just plain stupid. Asking an engine to take a massive toke every time it breathes in through it's own bum it obviously going to keep its temperature up. Especially when the exhaust/waste pipe has a compressor attached to it. Indeed that is one way the EGR system makes a claim at being ...

I thought after all that it was a very watered down version. The Scheme only applies to euro 3-4's and £2k off a brand new car. Now that isn't going to be a common position anyway. The number of people now driving an 04 and older car that are wanting to upgrade to a brand new car? Plus they are seem...

Frankly I'm not surprised it's not popular, people tend to protest most about things they feel they can affect. And the part about London being the lowest voting area, well they are in the worst affected area polution wise so are fully aware something needs to be done?

Love you too Fozzy! The point you're making is that you're intolerant of people who are of different descent to you. You have my pity chap, it can't be nice to live with hate in your life. Why not just ignore the cars, and get back to your box set of Chubby Brown videotapes. Love you. Sent from my S...

Lets hope you are whiter than white then. As soon as you start throwing that sort of weight on your doorstep that sort of mud sticks. Often to the one who threw it. Poland would be the first to stand up and admit, they are all human and also have their share of idiots, layabout lazy people. Just lik...

A couple of months ago was before there was media noise about getting rid of old diesel engines out of town centres though. I bet if t2000 went back to webuyanycar.com the price would be minus a lot more than £750. You are always going to get more on a private sale than on a dealer trade in for that...

Hey Bill, yes my new valve is fitted and I've yet to check the top of the filter to see if it's all cleared up, but I fitted new clamps and cut the pipe down till I had clean ends - they were quite badly perished. Mine has and does now start on the key no problem it was only a once in a while thing ...

I have just done exactly the same so by tuesday I'll know the result. Oddly mine is generally fine but if I park on a certain angle it has to bleed the system. Thankfully I have a healthy battery! Just to be sure I'd order up some new jubilee clamps or similar

So walk away, there are plenty for sale if you're not happy with it. I don't take to point below, if one ball joint is gone then you replace it. That the rest won't be far behind don't hold true at all. He wants to knock me £100 off the car and I get the bits done to get it MOT'd. Reckons the garage...

Re: The big DIESEL TAX scandal
I'd suggest any older car is going to get hit quite hard in tax one way or another due to emissions. The best deals will be for euro 6 diesel commercial vehicles, hybrid or electric cars, or 2010 onward petrol engines. Certainly getting an old gas guzzler will not give you much more time to play wit...

Yes, but again that it not 'very technical', rather it's logical common sense.
There is no benefit to the speed of travel at low speed if the flow capacity is too low at higher speed.
