Outside temp. sensor is behind the front bumper in front of the rad. if I remember correctly. Probably best just to check the wiring out first and unplug/plug in the sensor. outside temp not working..?
Hi all
My out side temp not working (shows up on dial cluster) just shows up two lines
Have checked on climate diagnose aswell and that says 999degrees
Are the sensors easy to change
Where are they located???
How much are they ?????

Looks a lot better cleaned up , although I'm trying to decided weather I like the spoiler or not ?....... In my b5.5 the digital climate on fan speed up to half way can't hear and can nearly feel it but over the halfway mark I can hear the blowers working then

Have also had the not so pleasurable gift of being ripped off 3 times in the past I have traveled up north to collect a motor after spending ages on phone talking over vehicle etc get there all looks as described get 30-50miles down the road (into a 150/200 mile journey home) and either dies complet...

Just rang local vw garage and its
£23.42 stat
£3.20 seal
If that dont solve it its going to cost another £38.23 for temp sensor and extra £0.54for the ring seal
So not mega expensive

I will second that try and use OE parts I used a motor factor and did this this once and that temp sensor lasted two weeks. Took me ages to get my money back. Told them send it back warranty and I said I wanted the labour charge credited too. Should of charged them downtime too. If any factor tells...

Like I've said many times before I'd highly recommend changing them both at the same time & replacing the coolant this way you only disturb the cooling system once. You can look to see if it's got the original black temp sensor in at the moment the new upgraded ones are green & the cheap eB...
