If thats a FSI engine then go and change the fuel pump... I have repaired a few of these 1.6 and 2.0 FSI engines so its the fuel pump ussualy. I will make shure by getting a diagnostic fault done, if there is a fuel pressure fault then its the pump... its 2001 so its a b5.5 and it will be a 2.0 8v ...
