Re: What cars do you hate?

Whats with French car makers (and possibly others, Nissan for example), putting the instrument cluster in the centre of the dash.. Why does the rest of the car need to see them.

Just laziness switching from LHD to RHD. :hyst

Re: Diesel or Petrol..Which is Best.!!!!

Depends what you want really. Economy wise, diesel would be better, though for performance petrol would be better. However, for diesel to be viable you'd have to cover a number of miles and considering youve said you only do short trips, then i wouldnt say you'd benefit much from a diesel. Also you ...

Re: The impossible task - how to do it???

Job done! Easy when you know how :D I used a pair of long nosed mole grips to press the small peg into the larger peg. I then pushed down on the window and it easily went into the window mechanism. Although i have a question - do i need to reset the window or something. Sometimes when i put the wind...

Re: The impossible task - how to do it???

Ok will try that. So when the peg is sat in the window and you push down, does it prise the regulator apart to slot in? Thank you for the help. Edit aaah i see, the little peg goes all the way into the larger piece. I assumed it just went in the same as i bought it - the little peg was only slightly...

Re: The impossible task - how to do it???

Ive just realised the smaller part of the peg comes out of the large bit and can see how it fits to the regulator and window. But still confused as to how to do it. Ive tried doing i through the little opening in the metal panel.. but still unable to do.

What a stupid design!

The impossible task - how to do it???

Hi all, Im attempting to put the plastic peg back in that holds the glass window to the windoe regulator - this is on one of the rear doors (B5.5 Estate). How on gods earth do you do it? Once the regulator has the glass slid into it the metal panel cant come far enough away from the door to allow yo...

To be honest, i didnt take the metal door cover off completely has the handle rod was keeping it in place. I gather ive got to remove this from the handle to allow me to get the metal cover off completely?

no, couldnt see a peg, but will have another look today. At least all it does need is a new peg if it its there in the door.
