Re: '99 TDI Feeling Sluggish?
Could be loads of things but if it has done a few mile I would think the manifold and EGR are well cloged up and need a clean. Also if it has a VNT type turbo the actuator could be jamed.

If your using MP3's etc then the sound quality will also be down to your encode bit rate. No point in shelling out for a top notch unit then encoding at a low rate.

Re: Wiring Boffins - advice needed
Although the amp has a 20Amp fuse it will never plug that much power.
The main problem is the volt drop, if the voltage drops down to low and the amp can't get the power it needs it will start distorting.

Re: Engine change
It depends on the year etc, your 130 is PD but the my mate has a GT Tdi and it is the older type with an injection pump.
The best bet is to get another PD130.

Re: Allard EGR power pipe
The pipe does the job it is ment to do and the price is fair for the quality you get but as said above there services is not the best. I have ordered a few items from them including one of these pipes and the delivery time was not the fastest. Please remember you loses your ASV when removing the EGR.

It allown you to side the front bit of the can forwards by about 100mm to allow access to change the belts etc with out removing everything. You don't have to drain the coolant of disconnect any boosts pipes just remove the bumper and the relevant bolts. I did a guide somewhere in this section try a...

Re: Rear Discs and Pads / PAS Pulley....
I would think lock carrier position would give enough room to get to the pulley bolts and that does not take very long you just need two lengths of M8 stud about 300mm long

Re: whats everything needed for aux belt change
You will need the aux belt tentioner but I think the type depends on you car.
You could also change the air con belt tentioner if you want.
As for the alternator pulley you could change that but I would check if it is jammed or not first. If you do want to change it you need the special tool.

Re: Turbo without remap
If the injectors are too big it may not run as it will be mega rich.
They should be able to make you a rough map and come and load it on and they just do the final bits on the rollers but they may charge more for that.

I don't think the hoses would have been off as all works can be done with front end in lock carrier position. But good to carry some water as it takes a while for all the water to work it's way out after the drain down from changing the pump.

The main thing is that it all gets sorted for your holiday.
I would like to know what the problem with the cam belt is, as it is being changed are they changing the tentioners for the cam belt and the water put as well.

I don't think driving would be a problem if it was the aux belt that snaped apart from no power steering and the battery discharging.

Re: Tuning
I have talked to a few people about TDi tuning and 180bhp from a PD130 sounds a bit much from just a remap as the turbo is too restrictive. The PD150 had a larger turbo so a little better. The Seat had an option of a PD160 with a big Seat Sport FMIC. EDIT If you do wnat to change the air filter I wo...

Re: Drive Belt Snapped
Alternator is bolted solid so I dont think that could have hit anything. The belt only does fan, power steering and alternator so I can't see how engine could be damaged if she pulled over quickley. I replaced mt tentioner on the weekend and fitted a new belt and alternator pulley as clutch was stuc...

I can't see the maxrix being blocked as no air would come out. If the pipes are blocked then I dont think they would even get cold. I'm not sure if there is a flap that can bypass the air con matrix if there is that could be jamed. Just had a look and the heatexchanger is one unit so if the air can ...
