Re: Temp dial not working on a car thats for sale??
Could just be a loose connection, could be the sender or the gauge. As far as running hot all you can do is look for all the normal things like water marks around the bottle and no anti frezze where it has all blown out. Not sure if the wiring loam from the engine runs past the battery but if it doe...

From my experience even with the right software and hardware for your can it would be very difficult to produce a good map. Please don't think I am saying it would be beond you but I think it takes a lot of experience which I for one do not have. Also remember if the download or upload process fails...

You don't have to use the power but it will be there if you need it so I would go 130

Re: New B5.5.... TDI130 sport estate.. fun things
First of all to get a remap you will need someone to load it on for you and this is the bit that they normally charge for as they have to buy the kit to do it (laptop and interface most of which are licenced), prices for this range from differnt suppliers. By off the self I mean you go to vendor X a...

Re: lowering springs
I would always replace shocks at the same time if the money will stretch and a kit is even better as the shocks will match the springs and all made for your car.

If you have a standard set up an off the shelf map should be fine and should get you up to about 170bhp. Some off the shelf maps are not the best so go with a recommendation. If you intend to fit custom upgrades you will need a map to make the best of these and this mapping may need some logging don...

Re: car twitches and goes though MAFs like crazy!
The cam sensor helps with the cam timing at idle so it could well be your problem as the ECU will be changing the cam timing without knowing what it is doing. Also after you got the TB cleaned did you get the idle control reset via vagcom. EDIT:- The car will run with no MAF due to MAP sensor so the...

Re: Which TDi's had a six speed box
I see what you are saying about the physical size. I think I will look into this a little more. DOes any one know if the clutch is bigger on the six speed as it is on the golf / A3 platform.
Thanks

If you turbo is VNT / VGT then the nozzle coudl the jamming, remove the actuator rod and work the nozzle alittle to free it up.

I'm thinking of doing some tuning so I want the 6 speed for strength as I hear they can handle more power.

Re: rolling road results
I think the passat 1.8T has a K03 so it can't hold the boost at high revs, a new turbo on there would see some real good power.
Do you have a boost gause would be good to see what the boost is doing.

OEM with a seperate amp unit.
Did any of the passats come with a split system that had a head unit with a seperate amp in another location, the only reason I ask is because i'm sure I saw this in an AUDI.

I would always go for groved disks and uprated pads if the funds stretch to it. I have used a lot of different makes with no big problems although some disks make more noise than others.

Re: injector seals on 1.8t anyone changed them??
The seals are not hard to change. Before changing the seal it is worth checking the bolts holding the rail in are tight. Start by cleaning as much of the dirt from about the injectors as possible as you don't wnat any going into the head. Depressurise the fuel system, have a rag handy and you loosen...

Hello All I am in the processes of getting myself a B5.5 PD130 as a daily driver. I have had a range of tuning experiance but not done much with oil burners. The tuning mods I would be looking at are as follow:- Boost pipe work upgrade and larger FMIC EGR pipe Intake manifold upgrade, would a golf P...
