PC upgrade help please

Hello Geeks (this also on VWAF). I'm looking to upgrade my trusty old PC which I built way back in 2005 and things have moved on a lot in those eight years. The old spec is; Athlon 64 3500+ plus an Asus motherboard plus ram plus an old g-force graphics card. These are junk now as I'm getting cmos ch...

Bite the bullet, go to the dealers and get the 'green' revised seals. About £5 each but worth it.

Bit cheesed off. Nothing to do with being a naughty boy. I've just come home having spent two weeks in hospital and having an Implanted Cardioverter Defibrillator installed. It is a box of tricks that sits under the skin on my chest and has sensor / activator wires that go inside my heart. I'...

Re: Played the mpg game earlier and ...

I'm with "Passat TDI 130" I've driven almost 100k in three AWX engined VAG cars, Two Passats and an Audi A6. The longterm average brim to brim calculated for all three has been 43mpg. Sure, it is easy to get very high one off journey figures but measured over a tank the best and worse I've...

Thanks Devian,

You really went through it and the news was suddenly dropped on you as well.

Puts what I'm going through in perspective and that is that my procedure was minimal compared to yours.

Sy, and everyone else, thanks for the replies. Sy, I've been out on the trusty Giant Hybrid a few times but really need to be taking it easy for a few weeks more recovering from the surgery. How did you deal with confidence issues? Like the thought of having a 'moment' where you could find yourself ...

I thought CBT was something built by Yamaha until I discovered Schmirnov ! :hyst As probably stated somewhere above, don't suffer in silence, get to your GP and get help. Re: Anxiety

Amazing. Amazing how this is being talked about without any stigma whatsoever, which is exactly how it should be. I've also suffered pretty badly from it. The best way I found of dealing with it was to let it happen and say to myself "bring it on, see how bad it can get" rather than trying...

Re: help! she wont start!

Not sure if the older cars had one, but I had a MK3 Golf 2.0 and the crank sensor failed which resulted in mysterious cut outs and non starts.

It was intermittent to begin but finally gave up.

Re: Oil Pressure Warning On Startup

The oil light while cranking over is nothing to worry about.

As for the non starting, a scan is the best starting point.

Possibly air ingress to the fuel system and or tandem pump.

My bet is the crank sensor.

You can scan these with vcds / vagcom to establish what the fault is.

Re: click click ball joints

Don't change the balljoints which would entail changing one or all of the eight suspension arms. Your problem sounds like it is a CV (Constant velocity) joint, probably an outer one. These are joints fitted to the driveshafts. A bit tricky to change and there are two accepted methods of changing the...

Re: Oil in water bottle?

You won't clean it out with just water, no matter how much you put through it. The accepted and proper way to do this believe it or not is to add some biological washing powder into the header, a good cup full, run it for a few days, drain, flush and repeat until it is sorted. Once you are happy the...

Re: Expert opinio needed! CV secure bolt snap on today!

To me, it sounds like the driveshaft was not correctly attached to the outer joint. The outer CV joint is probably still in place where it should be but the driveshaft has come away from it. I've tried to say the above as simply as possible. Your English is far better than I can speak any other lang...
