I thought in the B5 it was in the boot behind the fabric.... I did start to doubt what I had wrote though when I looked at that bracket and the length of wire.

If its a B5 then the alarm is in the boot... I recently fixed my alarm sounder but the cable for it didn't come from that direction in your picture...

Re: Leaking boost
Curiosity has got to me, in my search for my boost leak... This is the oil cooler pipe which comes out of what I think is the air intake... I noticed that the top pipe has a jubilee clip on it and the bottom part seems to be held on by nothing other than friction it's self. Can someone check on thei...

Leaking boost
Okay so recently fitted an EGR delete and Boost gauge and everything was brilliant, apart from while distracted by my new gauge. A few days ago I heard a hiss, and paid no attention too it as turbo car usually make a noise like that anyway... THEN I was heading to the shop to get milk when I started...

Mine do it, but at first I never noticed then after spending a bit of time adjust I was think that something was up... tbh its actually a really good idea for the likes of reversing or watching kerbs or being blinded by headlights from behind... or so i think lol

I can't remember where my constant 12v is wired too but I wired the switched 12 which I joined together to the light circuit so that it came on when the dash lights came on. The earth is attached to the frame that holds the fuses. I think i've a few pics so I'll put them up :-bd Also just looked tha...

How hard is this too take off?
In light of recent screw ups I've the chance to take the manifold off, as I'm replacing the EGR valve. Got a look inside the pipe to find this  http://i641.photobucket.com/albums/uu139/brendogg_od/IMG_8549.jpg Its about 5mm thick an its rock hard... I was expecting sludge similar to what I fo...

I'm apsolutly gutted tried every position possible (wayyy). and then sized it up against the EGR valve. its about 10mm too small and about 15mm on another. I've rung Allard on ...

Re: Just how good is the standard alarm setup on a B5?
Good set of lock nuts on the wheels and the car won't start I believe without a chipped key... I've a spare key which starts the car for like 2 seconds then it says "IMMOBILISER ACTIVATED" an the car turns off. I think Passat's have shock sensors not 100% like I know they've got the pressu...

Re: ESP OFF or ON whats the difference??
ASP is all have, only controls traction an sometimes helps when you slide out but nothing as noticeable as ESP
I think there's a slight difference in 2nd sometimes 3rd but I think its just because the power isn't been taken away because of a slight spin.
