I bought a Yuasa YBX not the AGM type for my x5 just after i bought the car.
The thing failed after about 14 months.
Took it back to the motor factors i got it from but they tested it as good.
Long story short i told them to keep it and walked away.
Went to Tayna where i should have gone first.

Not original well i have never seen one fitted from new.

Don't know but would it change mode/map with an injector error i don't know just a thought.

Have you done a fault code scan at all.

Didn't you get any knocking clunking it must have been worn out for some time i would think.

Well some folks like to get there monies worth out of things.

Rectifier in the alternator maybe.

I start by cleaning the paint off the new pads where they sit in the carrier.
I have found over the past few years some pads have loads of paint on them and after a short time in use they will rattle when the thick paint has worn off.
Then plenty of copper slip.

I would buy the 4 motion with the proceeds from the sale of the b5.5 job done.

Springs are not the same as they used to be.
I have never seen as many snapped as i do now i think it's recycled steel or something they are using.
I know of one that just went twang while the car was parked up for 5 minutes then just went.

I would try the bay auction for a second hand one if you know the type/make fitted.

+1 on the terminals.
What i would would be slacken the 10mm nut on the terminal clamp a bit and twist it one way then the other a few times to make a good contact then tighten them up again.
Saves disconnecting and having to reset things again.

Engine code is on a sticker 1 in the front of the hand book and 1 in the spare wheel well.

Many sold.
They might get commision from LUK or the likes lol.
