yes and no mate personally id rather/tend to do it the hard way as you dont really wana be spraying pressurized water around the electrics etc you could do without problems but why take the risk?!

ANPR cameras can read pressed plates I run pressed plates and i seem to get left alone and i do travel around a bit(fingers crossed :- ) ive only been stopped once about them the copper was alright with me but told me the dvla could put my car on a Q plate and it wouldnt be worth a lot because of it...

its hard to say without all the details and a look at it
£750 sounds a tad expensive id say about 5 maybe 6 would be fair as you could easy recoupe that in spares

Last time car was on the dyno loking for a little bit more power to get it over 200bhp took the air filter out. With the standard MANN paper filter that had done 10K plus miles it was making 196bhp and 320 odd pounds of tourque. Running it with no air filter at all it made about 1.5bhp more and 3-4...

no they dont mate, if your has id leave it. Id changed the cambelt on it just to be safe but some nice mods there already done i like that and id be happy with that for that price!
