Re: My TDI 130 Highline
Yeah there is no need to take that bolt out to do the CV although now it's out give it a very large coat of copper slip over the bolt then over the whole thing once it's back in to help stop it seizing in there again

Re: Traction Control Light Coming On After Tyres Replaced
Hi George,
your probably best whipping the wheels off and looking at all the abs sensor rings, if you got a code scanner it might give a clue as to which wheel it is causing it but my betting is they have caught one of the ABS rings on fitting or removal of the wheels and probably bent it slightly

Re: Vibration after replacing engine and gearbox mounts.
Vibrations could be caused by many things infact there is a bush in the foot pedals that wears and causes this exact vibration if you have good bushes, this might settle down once the bushes settle in, other than that you or your partner might have left something switched on in the glovebox, under t...

Although from the pictures it doesn't look like it's delaminating but it's looking rather old and tired, when was it last done? If you don't know maybe best to change it anyway for peace of mind

Looks a very similar unit to the A6 that I did and i changed them to LEDs it wasn't a huge amount brighter but you should never have an issue with them going again

Yes it can be done from underneath by just removing the undertray not lot of room but enough to be able to wiggle it out and refit the new one, quite often people unbolt them (without removing the pipes) to get better access to the starter motors

Thank you all for the replies! Completely agree with the repair - i've located a few breaking cars on eBay to see if I can grab a donor loom from that section and properly solder it in. Points also noted regarding the drainage holes etc, looks like there are a lot of awesome guides on here which I ...

Only reason I stay where I am,
if you want timing belt kits etc just ask, water pumps aren't easy but can get some though other suppliers although not great prices at the moment

Re: Cheap auxiliary belt tensioners on ebay
It does annoy me the cost from INA direct is only £22.80 so why do company's ask so much for them it doesn't make sense as the 1.8t aux tensioner costs from INA £28.33 and most places sell it for around £45 /£50

No need to measure the distances on these all you need to do is with the car on stands put a trolley jack under the hub and jack it up just until it starts lifting it off the stand this is then the curb weight of the car then tighten all your nuts/bolts etc and then you'll get it exact, by measuring...
