Re: HELP - engine problem before i take it to a garage...

Fuel pressure problem maybe but I would not think so as you can still get full power. I think it is more likley a sensor fault or an air leak but no fault codes is strange. I have heard no faults codes with a MAF fault before.

Re: how much for new discs and pads all round?

I would supply your own and just get a price for fitting, the price for the disks and pads will depend on what you want.

I find euro parts good just give them your reg and tell them what parts you want, you can also get an idea of price off there web site.

Re: Self Adjusting Clutch

I contacted Luk and they say a special tools is required on some models to hold the pressure plate in adjustment but if you just tighten the pressure plate bolts in sequence you should be fine.

I have a clutch alinement tool which I will be using.

Self Adjusting Clutch

I got my Luk clutch a few weeks back but have not had time to look at it, got it out today and it is self adjusting.

It says on the box I need a special setting tool when fitting, does anyone have any info on this as I have had a quick look around the net and found little information.

This is my first guide so I will apologise for my spelling and grammar now. I have not uploaded the photos yet but will do this ASAP. Setting the lock carrier into the services position is required for a number of jobs so I decided to do a separate guide for this. To give good all round access I dro...

Warning light still on after pad change.

I have just changed my pads and discs and the warning is still on the dash.

Do I have to get it reset or should I just check my wires and connectors etc.

Re: B5 / B5.5 Clutch / Spiggot bearing info

Is that £680 fitted that seams too cheap I heard the DMF and clutch kit alone was £480+VAT trade and stripping the box to do that bearing would take a few hours. Is there any chance someone is getting mixed up with the bearing in the end of the crank. My clutch is on the way out to i'm starting to...

Re: B5 / B5.5 Clutch / Spiggot bearing info

I have re built a few gearboxes with good results but by the look of the pictures you would need to strip the box right down to get the shaft out and change that bearing.

What sort of milage does this need changing at?

Finaly got my car just a few questions

Hi All Been on here for a while but just picked up my car last night, a 2001 TDi sport. First thing is I only have one key and want to get a second one, I see the blanks on ebay and I think I have a mate that can code it for me but where can I get it cut? Next thing is the front tyres are worn on th...

Re: Tdi 130 Uprated Clutches? Remapped - now clutch slip.....

6 speed has a bigger clutch so you might be ok with a new friction plate. Quite often when you buy a clutch kit it comes with a new pressure plate. The clutch kit I got which was 20% uprated was not on a passat. Had a quick look on the Allard site and I guess they must be happy with just replacing t...

It is hard to spot a CV joint problem on an MOT but I had a waorn one and did feel some vibration but it was like it for a while.

Other vibration could be heat spotted disks, out of balance wheels or tyres.

Re: Tdi 130 Uprated Clutches? Remapped - now clutch slip.....

It would be well worth getting a pressure plate and friction plate which are uprated so you are putting more pressure on the plate. I have had a 20% uprated one before and the clutch is still quite light.

Also do you have the 5 or 6 speed box.
