Re: Rubbish air con
Just to update, a new pcv valve in the compressor for 15 quid fixed the problem. I was getting 17 degrees at the vents, after fitting the new pcv and a regas, I'm now getting 4 degrees. The new valve is slightly longer at the end which might have been used in the later compressors but does the same ...

Emissions update
Did I read somewhere on here that if the egr fails after the update or within two years, vw will fix it for free?
Haven't had mine done, just curious.

Rubbish air con
The air con in my passat has never been great, it works but it's just not ice cold! It's just the standard a/c unit. Had it re gassed 2 years ago, was maybe slightly better but hardly much! Sat in traffic it's pants! The fans work, compressor works, the fins for the Rad look a bit damaged assuming i...

Worth removing the rubber around the boot hinges and cleaning all surfaces and cleaning out the drain tubes. This was my issue.

Yeah, I do and that makes it even worse! So I only use my phone charger when the radio is off or have a cd on!

Re: New Android unit, poor reception
Thanks. Tried what you said but only a slight improvement, still getting fuzzy reception, can only get radio 1 and to local stations, the rest are rubbish. It was like this on my standard basic head unit so something isn't right. Maybe a new rear Window amp will help? Sent from my SM-G935F using Tap...

New Android unit, poor reception
Just bought a Android head unit and the radio reception is poor, even the standard unit couldn't pick up many stations. Yet I can jump into an old corsa and pick up everything! Anyway, the new unit I have only requires one fakra in the back so I had to buy a 2 into 1 adaptor. See picture Do I need t...

Changing exhaust manifold exhaust gas temp sensor
Hi
I have a G235 egt exhaust gas temperature fault, constantly reading 18 degrees. I think this sensor is in the exhaust manifold under the Turbo, so pre Turbo.
Has anyone ever changed these, I have read there a pig to get to.
Any tips please!?
Thanks

Re: Two Fault Codes
Do you have a a link? got this following posted on another forum https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/232471527767 is this what you used? How easy is it to fit? the link above is for metal manifolds? is it suitable for passats? Yeah they do ones for plastic and metal manifolds depending on what you have. Easy ...

Re: Two Fault Codes
I fixed my p2015 with a 20 quid part off ebay. The working envelope of the motor extends too far beyond it's working limits due to wear. This part I fitted cured this.

Re: S****s snapped off my wing mirror!
The heating wiring is only 2 thin spades. One blue one red. Had to take my mirrors off in the summer and reglue them due to wobbling. I'd give anything to get my hands on the little b@stards who did that btw. I'd torture the little t*@ts. Thanks! I was just concerned about the plug to give electric...

S****s snapped off my wing mirror!
Some kids thought it would be fun to snap my wing mirror off! It's been wrenched downwards therefore it can't be fixed! Does anyone know if the painted covers can be easily removed and put on another mirror as I can't afford a brand new one. Plus if I can swop the painted cover it will make sourcing...

Re: P2015
I have vcds, I haven't looked properly so it's fuel lines off also even on the common rail? Quite happy taking stuff apart and jigsaw it all back together. I will fit the fixing kit for my error first as it's mot this week and it won't pass with that on. Once it passes it's mot (positive thinking) I...

Hi I had a fault come up on my 2.0tdi cr the other day, it has since cleared but have read about a number of fixes, some bracket from the states? Sorry but I would never put kids or anyone in the back of a 7 seater. Get hit from behind and they are squashed. I would sooner buy a van!

Re: Towbar electrics - help please!
I never ran any wires thru the firewall, I tapped into terminal 30 on the passenger side for a permanent live using a piggy back set up. The garage did wire in an additional permanent live for charging of a caravan etc, they took that off the drivers side. I think I paid around 130 quid for them to ...

B6 seam spider webbing, any point taking it back?
My 58 plate b6 has spider webbing on all the door inner panels which looks to have come from the seams, I read this is not covered!? When I run my finger over it, you can hear the paint is loose. The same has happened on the bonnet seam at the front, plus rust on the rubber grommet holes on the unde...

Re: Towbar electrics - help please!
It's not the best but I did most of mine myself, I only took it to a garage to wire in the drivers side and program it in.
