Re: Key fob signal weak?

Yes mine had the circuit-board included.

I had to search using the number off the circuit board I think, it was a good while ago. Then you can transfer your transponder to the key fob. That is if the B6 have similar fobs etc.

Re: Key fob signal weak?

I had a good result from buying a new remote fob off of eBay. This was for a B5.5 so not sure if the B6 platform would be much different.

Double DIN Recommendations

Mate of mine wants to fit a double din into his B5.5, and has asked me for advice. I've no experience with them so thought I'd ask the Passat Hive mind.

What's a good budget brand to get, he doesn't have a lot of cash to blow.

Cheers Guy

Re: Door ajar dash display

Cheers for your reply, could it really be the CCM only effecting that one door? Incidentally I forgot to mention in my post that someone before me has obviously been faffing around with the CCM unit as there is a spare/old one in the glovebox! I’ll do a search on here for CCM unit and I’ll check th...

Re: Door ajar dash display

It does sound like the typical case of the CCM getting water damage. Do a search on here for CCM and see what comes up. In essence the CCM box (Comfort Control Module) is situated under the carpet on passenger front side, and controls all the functions of interior lights, door locks etc etc. This ty...

Could possibly be snub nose mount? Has this been changed, also engine mounts (check for leaks).

I did think that, but it appears to be coming from inside the hole?

I'll have a good gander underneath tomorrow..

Here's an interesting one... What's this goo from?

I was changing my fuel filter tonight, and when I removed the old one, I spotted something odd below it coming from hole just where the gearbox meets the block. It's same consistency as CV grease, but why is it coming out of there? Pictures below... What is it? https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2021...

It's easy if you use the app called Tapatalk, it is used for viewing forums etc and it's as easy as click and select your pic.

Re: Rub strip removal

Were yours the plain black textured ones? As mine are like the one in the pic, and I'm sure they have mounting tab things. I'm not 100% sure but I know the profiles of the two different types of strips are different, and I thought they were mounted using combination of adhesive and mounting holes......

I think it depends on what type, the highline ones with the chrome strip, are they not attached with mounting holes??

Can you hear the pump with bonnet up? Also have you tried removing the pipe from the washer nozzle and then squirting the washer?

Yeah, it’s a sleeve which you need to get off. Don’t ruin it as you can’t buy them a separately and youlll need an entire new knuckle. Balljoint fork/remover works wonders usually. Re: Is old diesel still usable?

Edd China did some good comparisons between very old diesel that had been left in a Range Rover for many years against new diesel. The results were not really ground breaking as it was still usable etc, no real downside to using older stuff, and as has been said if it's been in a sealed jerry can it...

I managed to do mine using Minimentals guide, and just a trolley jack.

Taking time is the key, and get the car up as high as you can.

The satisfaction of doing it yourself is immense.

Good luck.

Well it's easy when you know how. Job done.

It's actually a normal thread, which is contradictory to the spec diagram!

All swapped over and away we go.

Thanks for the advice.
