Re: Name for part needed

Definitely not needed now after I`ve had a gander at the price.Anywhere between £70 and £100 online. I ramped my car up yesterday to change the oil and noticed that thing was soaked in oil which seems to be coming from the sump bung.If it hadn`t been there, oil would have been all over my drive.Hopef...

Name for part needed

I need to replace this item as its falling off and clogged with poo.
It`s not the plastic under-tray but the bit that covers the sump.It seems to be made of a similar material as the interior carpets of my Passat.I`ve searched on fleebay but can`t find it anywhere.
What`s the actual name of it?

Shocks
Arms
Front engine mount
Timing belt
Clutch has never been replaced (180k)

I need to replace the rear corner glass on my 05 saloon. Can this be done at home or is it a job for Autoglass etc?
Thanks.

Just went through MOT today but here`s a list of stuff that my local indie says my 2005 AWX Highline needs. If it was yours, would you repair or replace, bearing in mind I`ll have to get them to do the work at £37.50p/h plus vat?My clutch seems fine but flywheel seems to be making noises.Engine seems 1...

Re: Never own another passat

I`ve been fairly lucky with mine.2005 Highline AWX.170k miles.Failed MOT once because the bonnet wouldn`t close properly.Had it nearly 3 years and haven`t replaced clutch, flywheel or front suspension ..yet.
Don`t reckon I want to spend £1k on it but I don`t know what else to buy.

Re: Quick pollen filter sealing question.

Thanks.I`m currently sealing all of my doors and drying carpets as that`s where my water was coming in.Passenger carpet and ccm are bone dry thankfully.I`ll get my mechanic mate to take out the pollen filter housing as I know for a fact,I`ll bust the windscreen.

Quick pollen filter sealing question.

Instead of taking out the pollen filter housing which involves removing wipers etc,can the tray be sealed in situ with a good mastic type sealant? What I mean is,just seal right around the sponge joint with the pollen filter removed?

Clutch pedal judder

I`ve started to notice my clutch pedal is juddering when I take off in 1st gear. Car has 177k miles and I`ve had it for 2.5 years.Plenty of receipts and history with it but no mention of a clucth replacement anywhere although I`m sure it must have been replaced at some stage. 2005 AWX TDI. No signs ...

Had the bumper off, 2 ends of the lines detached and couldn't get near the other ends without taking the condenser off so I connected everything back up, stuck the bumper on and I'll just keep the windows down.

Re: A/C troubleshooter.

Right, took it to a local specialist and he said that the a/c line has been rubbing, causing a hole in it.He said if I replaced it,he`d then fill it and test it.I`ve had a quick look and can see the line that needs changing but was wondering if it`s easier to take off the front bumper or can it be acc...

My AC has never blown cold air in my 2 years of ownership and I know nothing about how it works,so before I take it to a specialist, what simple steps can I take to possibly save me a few quid?
Cheers.
