Re: B5.5 indicator stalk, easy to replace?

ok Enabling cruise with VAGCOM is a 2 min procedure, there is a thread somewhere with a map of those who have it that are willing to do these simple jobs. But sometimes the cruise is already enabled. I'd get the kit, fit it and worry about enabling it once you're done. It won't affect the car with t...

Re: B5.5 indicator stalk, easy to replace?

I have an indicator only stalk (i.e no cruise) £15 ? It is a steering wheel off job, but very easy. Follow the instructions lying around for cruise control, or I can photocopy my cruise instructions if you want. You will need an M12 Spline drive to get the steering wheel off, and there are importan...

Re: V71 Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor

Had one of these in my garage for nearly a year. Stealer sold me one for that sort of money, didn't explain that it was a near impossible job. I believe with the Passat it is a whole dash out job, so didn't bother. There are a few discussions on passatworld with a couple of vagcom commands to try an...

Re: Colour Coded Lower Black Trim

Got them all colour coded on mine too. Would need new trim for the upper door ones (about £5 each from VW) only because they are stuck on and will bend coming off, rest can be rubbed down and painted. The lowers have three or four screws on the inside then just pull off. The front and rear valances...

I used a precision screwdriver (like for glasses) on mine.

If it's the genuine VW retro fit kit then the instructions included are straight forward enough.

You will need an M12 spline drive to remove the steering wheel, and probably VAG-COM to activate it.

Just to return to the original question - yes get the lowers painted! Makes the car look much lower.

Paint shop painted my original door bottoms & bumper corners, but I got new door strips from VW as they are quite cheap and come ready to paint.

Would be the same proceedure as upgrading to Cruise. Basically, you need an M12 spline drive to remove the steering wheel, and need to disconnect battery negative before removing the air-bag. Then the stalks slide off the steering column, and are clipped together. Find a write up for the Cruise Cont...

Same as Sam for me too, brackets were fine, just needed the new holes drilling, and a pillar drill is advised.

Yep, the extra one is ... extra and isn't required.

Ride is stiffer and can be a bit rough over the worst pot-holed streets but apart from that you get used to it. But I had sport suspension before anyway...

Have my estate ~40mm lower at the back and ~20mm lower at the front.

Where were the wheel spacers from and did you need longer bolts?

Have you got the R32 steering wheel & Airbag finished?
