It could also be leaking from your egr cooler into your exhaust.

Re: Mystery water loss
Been through this myself with the addition of white smoke on startup. If you are losing small amounts i would bet that its leaking when engine is up to temperature through a crack in the head or a faulty headgasket. TBH it sounds like you have covered all the other bases.

Nice modified Passat in Fakenham today.
Mint black loon with tinted rear lights, lowered with some blingy wheels and stickers on the back window. Thought it might be someone from here because the rear lights had the skyline mod done on them. Sadly wouldn't have been seen myself as i was in her scabby blue XTrail.

Mine are split with red and white using a standard bulb.RichardSEL wrote:Standard OEM door lights, as OEM fitted to the SEL are red filament bulbs only. Think I've still got my old ones from when I upgraded to eBay ones that are LED, red top half and white for down lighters bottom half.
PM me if you want those?

UPDATE: The garage admitted to me that when the gearbox was swapped they mistakenly fitted the old clutch which would have been covered in poo and oil. Got the car back yesterday after they fitted a new clutch and now it drives perfectly again. Got them to throw in a free service for my trouble too...

Piggyback fuse into one of the mini fuse holders on the right hand side of the dash. Easy to route through from there to the centre console too. Mines got almost all the toys and there was still a spare mini fuse slot which was switched live. You need to get your multi meter out

Coming home lights i thought was standard on Highline and SEL models but it might not be with halogen headlights definately with the Xenon. Windows up and down from the fob is already enabled, you just hold the lock button to shut and unlock button to open. Has yours got the full mfd display and whe...

The good ones you activate and run away as quickly as possible, never used the other sort. Might take a while to fully get rid of the smell but it will disappear eventually.

185k and going strong on mine. I have recommended the AMC head on Darkside to others as it is much cheaper than the same AMC head ECP sell! Of course the machining cost has to be added in on top for reseating the valves etc. if you don't do this yourself but it should not be too much extra. Hopeful...

Is the recall for injectors marked as completed in the back of the service book? Mine had it done and is marked, seems strange VW are saying yours isn't part of the recall when yours is the same engine and a similar age to mine.

Do a search bud, this has been done to death. The consensus is many are not bothering to have the VW quick fix done on their cars.

That's an AMC aftermarket head bud so that's one positive! Much better quality than the vw heads made from pure non recycled aluminium and not porus. Darks side developments sell them which is a testimony to the quality which is why took this route with mine. I honestly think it's the heat generated...

Re: Hello from a B6 wagon owner.
Looks nice bud. As for the cylinder head issue, they all crack if your unlucky enough regardless of the part number. Mine was a late one and was cracked in 3 places between the valves. Thankfully I have a decent AMC one fitted now and dpf deleted so no more excess heat on the head from regent and a ...

Re: b6 worth avoiding?
B6 passage of that year are common rail but as with everything, buyer beware. They are better than the 2.0 pd engine but still have a dpf which brings it's own set of issues. If I was buying again I would get an insured independent inspection done just in case. Repairs on mine were £1500 replacing ...

Sel model is the top of the range, just in case you didn't know. I'm the same as you but it's cheaper to work on the exterior than try and spec out the interior to highline or sel spec.
Mine will eventually have a r line kit on it.

It's vag specific bud and it's the go to kit for individuals and specialists in vag cars. Been using it for years and there isn't much you can't do with it.

Re: Smelly White Eye Watering Smoke PLEASE HELP ME!!
Mine was either in regeneration or limp mode when it happened to me. Only solution is to delete the dpf or replace it. Saying all this, you need to have some checks done on vcds first, this can also tell you the state of your dpf and associated sensors.

All fitted and working a treat Monoblock amp under the seat, box in the boot. Getting the power cable through into the car was a bit of a mission as was finding a space for the fuse holder but i got there in the end.

Haven't checked coolant but garage has Delfi and VAG for 2.0 TDI's. Are VCDS' different/better? No idea i'm afraid, have always used VCDS and its worth every penny i spent getting it. Coolant would be my first check because if coolant is making its way into the exhaust under pressure it will give s...
