Re: IMMOBIL ACTIVATED
Did you also swap over the immobiliser 'chip'?... I would guess perhaps not from what you have said. I am uncertain of the exact design of your key but this diagram might assist you... the immobiliser 'chip' is not on the PCB, it is a separate device identical or similar to the one in this diagram....

IMMOBIL ACTIVATED
Had my keys in overall pocket whilst working to deal with the 5+ litres of water under the carpet and broke the part that attaches to a keyring. Bought new keyfob, swapped key and PCB into new fob (with a little modification). Central locking/unlocking works ok, but engine start produces "IMMOB...

Re: Weird ignition starting issue
Thanks everyone for all your suggestions. Because of all the weird issues e.g. (double press on keyfob and 3 doors open one stays closed, then a day later the door that stayed closed opens and the other 3 stay closed) I decided to reset my testing. I recharged the battery checked it was at 12V+, and...

Weird ignition starting issue
Hi all, I've got one issue that seems to be creating several somehow related problems. 1. Starting...start motor seems very sluggish, but does starts engine after several turns of the key. (Battery fully charged) 2. On starting engine, can hear relays in L/R door tripping and around the dashboard. 3...

Re: Engine Oil Dilemma... Can U Help?
I did not think it is a 2.0. I am sure they are all 1.8's. My Passat has 2.0 on the right hand side of the tail gate. The log book shows the model as Passat S (but there is no S badge on the tail gate) and it also shows the engine as petrol 1999cc. Could the log book info be wrong? I bought the Pas...

Anyone know th...

Re: Engine Oil Dilemma... Can U Help? Solved...but
Made a decision... topping up with Fuchs 05W-40 Synthetic. Another question. The documents I do have with me show my car as follows: - Make/Model: VW Passat S 2.0 20V Breakdown: - 5 door Estate. Engine: 1999cc, 20V. Fuel: Petrol. I've visited several websites with a database of VW cars and have nev...

Engine Oil Dilemma... Can U Help?
Moved to new house in November, house needs some work before main move. The rest of my stuff is in storage, including the manuals for my 2002 registered (52 plate) Passat 2.0 Estate 20V Petrol, 5 Door. I need to top up the oil but have no idea which oil specification to use. My mechanic in London th...
