Re: How do you fund your dub?
Worryingly I, like the OP, am also a web developer - http://www.rsmck.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for those who care (as an aside to madrob - like the example sites you give - good to see more standards-based developers :)) - and a linux/mac server-monkey, VoIP an...

Re: Chiropractors / Osteopaths, Your Opinions please
I had a very good osteopath for a number of months, made a remarkable difference at the time ... few years ago now and my back still occasionally gives me bother (heavy lifting etc) and since my osteopath had retired, was recommended to a nearby physiotherapist who's been great :) I know a number of...

Re: HID kit problems
Could be the lamp itself, or the ballast... If it's coming on then going straight back out again my personal guess would be the ballast, you could try swapping the lamps around and see if the same side still goes out (in which case it's the ballast) or the other lamp goes out (in which case replace ...

Re: Leather / Alacantara + Razor
I did this with one of these ... http://www.johnlewis.com/230215352/Product.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Made a big difference, I won't say the driver's seat looks like new since mine's done around 100k miles... but the rear seats (which were a little bobbled) look a...

Re: led indicator bulbs
No-one does them sadly - I imagine it wouldn't be TOO hard to make yourself but I dont have either a spare tail light or a pile of LEDs to try it ... could be an interesting project though - just be sure you wire them in such a way that one or two LEDs can fail without losing them all (I work in the...

Sadly that's not the case any more ... police have always been able to use them anywhere but even the safety camera partnerships (who the signage and visibility rules used to apply to) don't need to follow them ... they're just "guidlines"

First one looks identical to what's on mine ...
Second one's a bit odd... i dunno if I like the thought of a solid aluminium aerial.

Re: led indicator bulbs
I tried replacing the stop/tail lights but the reflectors aren't designed for LED lights and ultimately got less light out the back than before (and there's a localised bright spot in the middle of each lens rather than the even light the incandescents give) If you want to do it properly do what thi...

Re: B5 2.5 V6 TDI
So the reason my own car is a 1.9 is it does 48MPG on a run even with 170 MTM remap and is 4Motion. I do miss the smoothness of the AKE engine though. Now I'm somewhat worried.... I get high 30s most of the time out of my 1.9 TDI 4Motion ... got mid-high 40s on the non-4mo I had before but put the ...

Re: Seat Ibiza EPC fault!
Exact same problem on my better half's 2004 TDI Golf... EPC light, first thing that I thought of was the brake pedal switch and we checked the brake lights at the time and they *were* coming on... switched the car off and on a few times and eventually it went away... seems there was an intermittent ...

Courtesy Puddle Light ... (Really minor issue!)
Ever since my Passat came back from the dealership from being fixed after the water ingress damage it's developed a small problem that it didn't have beforehand (so I don't think it was caused by the water ingress) The puddle light in the drivers door turns on when you open the door, but once the do...

Re: Horrible ford courtesy car! I WANT MY PASSAT BACK!!!!!!!!
My worst experience with a modern ford was a Focus Estate which released it's handbrake by itself, rolled down the driveway and hit the garage at the end ... apparently this was a "known issue" with some of them ?!?!

Looks really odd not being there... but equally it gets in the way at times
Are the engine bays on the B5/B5.5 not the same shape and size anyway... couldnt you just put a B5.5 cover on it ?

Sadly I've seen that article before... his representatives keep changing their story as well... last I heard the dog was 'only' in the gallery for 3 hours and then escaped apparantly :/ ... before that they'd said the dog died in the gallery ...

The B5.5 has a clip as well which I believe is almost impossible to remove without breaking, so best to have one to replace it with ... Not done mine yet - new gaitor is sitting in a box

I don't think I've ever seen a topic where everyone is in agreement like this... I'm impressed... this started as just another of my random rants ;) At least in Holland they fully admit that the speed cameras provide a "Speeding Tax". That is the limit and if you break it we will tax you....
