I have a 2005 highline pd 130 bhp mine doesn't have wood or cruise control..............
However they could of possible been an optional extra the first registered keeper paid to have.....
Cruise Control Yes But Wood
It Could be a faulty oil senser OR a faulty micro switch in the bonnet catch.
Trying disconeect the live and earth of the battery and using a set of jump leads connect one of the jump leads to the earth and the same colour jump lead but other end onto the live.
The garage haven't had a chance to look at it but went into limp again the other day so thought I would plug vagcom in again to see what came up this time and the following came up
yum yum, antifreeze is a known mixer for people that want to get rid of their partners... I would avoid the taste test, these are toxic fluids after all. if the oil is black i wouldn't worry, for peace of mind get a leak sown test carried out, should cost too much as it only takes less than an hour ...
if your oil cooler was faulty the oil would be cream sludge, as it would if the head gasket was gone. With just a little in the breather pipe i would not be concerned at all. Is the car driven short distances regularly? this is a classic sign for that. if it is in the breather only dont panic. if ...
The smoke is defo NOT unburnt diesel if left to idle for a short time then revved up if I dash to the back of the car where the smoke is it has a smell of burning oil.. plus more a blue smoke than black which you get with unburnt diesel.
I might see if I can find someone local to me who can maybe ...
At a guess I would say its the pipe from the turbo going to the metal intercooler pipe along the bottom behind the bumper (one end goes into turbo connecting with a short pipe and the other end connects to intercooler throught another short rubber pipe)
would a faulty oil cooler cause the coolant to mix with the oil ?
not sure what head was removed for and am I right in thinking a leak test is done by pouring water into the rings so therefor head will need to be removed?
would I be right in thinking it may be the head gasket leaking, and going from compression test results would I be right in thinking it could be from cylinders 2 & 3 and with it only been down slightly could indicate just a small leak?????? :???: :???:
FINALLY!!!! someone with the exact same smoking issues as me!
my pd130 does exactly the same thing, the only thing mine does that you haven't said is when i ass a little bit of throttle at slow speeds to go up a slight hill, i get clouds of blue smoke, but its only at very low boost, as soon as i ...
It does have a whistle which i think people have described as a police siren tone at very little rev on and off you can hear it it also has a whine not the more the turbo it getting used. So not sure if this makes it too far gone too replace at home
And a little on start up but mainly when idling at lights or if warmed up and just left it ticking over for a few mins then put your foot to the floor you get a cloud of blue smoke ot used to be quite a lot but not as much now as before it was a lot of heavy blue smoke but now ...
I presume that this is a TDi engine? In which case 40 psi difference is fine. See ... http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/b5/glow-plug-removal-passat.htm ... If it was a petrol then that difference would be a bit dodgy. But I guess at those pressures your plugs would have blown themselves out ...
