Re: Colb666's old car?
I did own this car from 11 months old for just over a year, the last time I saw it was lying on the hard shoulder of the M8 looking a little sorry for itself with two punctures and very much in need of a wash.

Re: B6 Wheels comaptible with B5
B6 wheels are the same pcd (stud pattern) but, offset is higher so fitting B6 wheels to a B5 means they'll sit further into the arch.

Re: Car goes back on a hill
Firstly, make sure you have your seat belt on (or it wont work) For hill starting your Passat, simply select 1st gear, bring the clutch to bighting point, at this point the car will sense that you have enough power to move off and the parking brake will release automatically by itself. No need to d...

It's only the cable that connects it to the head unit thats different Andy, don't think it's available anymore from VW/Audi either mate.Your correct in saying the plugs for the head unit end are the difference

Re: who has remapped their PD130's (AWX engine not AVF)
Here's the plot from my old B5.5 awx wagon,it had just been fitted with a new gearbox, clutch and flywheel when I picked it up.I did another 30k in a year with it running this power and it was fine. I've found if you treat the clutch with a little bit of respect and don't rag the ass off it from a st...

Re: Steering Wheel
If yours is the later B6 wheel ( 09 plate on)then it's a straight swap over and if yours is already MF it's 100% compatible. Not sure if it's just a matter of changing with the earlier wheel but,the guy who bought the OEM one from my CC fitted it to his early B6 and I'm sure it was only a matter of ...

It's not the gearbox that seems to give issues, tends to be the mechatronics units which VW are addressing now.

Re: how to identify alloys
The number you quote,RT197 is a Passat option wheel made by BBS for VW.The offset (ET) is 37 not 57.They are known as "Donnington" in VW speak.

Re: Audi fat fives
Andy, you'll be able to fit a 10mm spacer either side/corner with no issues on your 5.5 wagon, think the standard ET on the 5's is 45 so 35 on the 5.5 is cool,a 225 tyre on the 5's gives you a little bit of stretch as they'll be 8.5 wide.

Re: R36 grill?
I think you'll find the R36 bumper is totally different and the grille protrudes out rather than sitting flush like other B6's so I'd reckon not but,the "R" line B6 grille is a similar colour to the R36 alloy look and they'll be lots cheaper as well

Re: Is it possible to match rear fog light with reverse light?
crackman inside the bootlid on the left of it you'll find the inspection cover what lets you gain access to the near side inner light cluster, remove the cover and you'll see the rear of the light cluster, three little nuts to remove and the electrical connector then the cluster just pulls out.Change ...

Re: Hate it when stuff you order never turns up?
My pet hate on ebay is the amount of commercial sellers who advertise goods the sob's don't feck'n well have and they are quoting 3-5 days delivery from when they receive your payment,3 weeks later your still waiting on the goods after numerous emails the goods turn up wrong
